Very much agreed. I love that we have a proper place to discuss this awesome show here with people who are enthusiastic about it and can recognise it for its qualities (and not just for the superficial mayhem and boobs, but also the more subtle aspects of it which aren't immediately obvious to everyone), and Les does

Yup, very glad that it wasn't Stowe in that chopper (let alone with Carrie). Hood being without Job should make for a nice change of pace next season as Job kinda tends to be sort of a magic McGuffin on occasion, making things a bit too easy for Hood et al. At least in my humble opinion (not that he's not an awesome

Holy shit this is going to be a long year until Banshee comes back. This season was one glorious motherfucker.

"Oh that's just embarrassing. I never miss!"
*swoosh*

I really do wonder what my dog dreams about when he's twitching like that. Running around would be my first guess, but still, one can never be sure.
Regardless, it is adorable as fuck.

Yup, that would be my guess as well.

This. I really appreciate that the show hasn't chosen the "Oh, now that my abusive petty criminal dad is dead I suppose he wasn't such a bad guy after all" cliché but instead sticks to its guns when it comes to that relationship.

I've been rewatching the previous seasons lately and must say that especially in season 4 Ava lost a lot of sympathy points with me. Yes, in the end she was unable to pull the trigger on Ellen May, but as you say, she hit her, then had a flimsy excuse for it (which, when I think of her as a victim of domestic violence

For the most part, the relationship between the average citizen and the police here is, as far as I can tell, not too bad. We're mostly annoyed by speeding tickets, because that's a huge deal for our politicians, so it's made to be a huge deal for the police, and in turn they annoy the drivers with that shit.
However,

That sounds very like CNN.
"Look guys, we have this new fancy toy and these cool graphics and a new studio and a fancy blablabla. Oh, incidentally, something happened somewhere 50 years ago, but we're not quite sure what because we're horrible at being journalists, so we'll just go back to talking about our fancy toys."

The second season opener of Black Sailz I really enjoyed, there have been some fun moments in season 2, and I would say it's better than season 1, but to be honest, there's still a ton of rather tiresome blabla going on between the interesting bits in my humble opinion. I do rather like the insight we've gotten into

Yeah, I'm looking forward to what Zachariah has in store and how it will play out.

I can't speak for US law enforcement policy, but in Switzerland the situation is as follows (taking this from my military duty, which was partially spent doing police-like duties, and a very good friend who used to be a cop and with whom I often had these sorts of discussions):
- If there's an immediate danger, center

I recently rewatched the show (well, haven't done S5 yet), and honestly, I actually enjoy season 3 more than season 2. I'm not saying that it's objectively superior (insofar as these things can ever be assessed objectively), but I just had more fun watching it for some reason.
Not really sure why to be honest. It might

Damn, had forgotten about that! Maybe they were trying to make a point and show that she'd transformed into a desk jockey who didn't really venture into the field much anymore (she was an assistant director after all)? Yeah, I shall choose to believe that.

Somebody needs to get Geno Segers a guest spot on Archer. With that voice, there has to be something glorious that can be done.

Ha, funny you should mention that, I just recently rewatched Strike Back. Dougray Scott was freaking glorious as Leatherby, just utter and pure destructive fun.
And yes, Dillahunt could be a good fit for Strike Back, especially with that beard. It's a shame that we only have one more season to go on that show, but then

Very similar situation for me here in Switzerland. For one thing, stuff usually takes ages to get here, and when it does it's usually dubbed. And sorry, but there is no way I will watch somebody as magnificent as Boyd Crowder in dubbed German. And of course by far not everything actually does get here.

So he's aspiring to become the Sean Bean of television?

Most of the CNN I've seen has been through The Daily Show, so at first I thought that those were just occasional screwups (because if you do news 24/7 there will inevitably be screwups), but over time I reached the conclusion that it really was a horrible channel.
Thanks for further cementing that. Dear fucking lord,
