“Too good”? Their funding got cut to next to nill, they missed the initial two tests for the new bodies, were looking like they were going to miss the third one, at which point NASCAR said “if you don’t show for this, don’t bother for the 4th one”.

Agreed, I’m surprised he doesn’t get mentioned more here. Yunick was the most Jalop mechanic in history.

Jeff Gordon was given a special car to run at the 1997 Nascar All-Star Race. It wore a Jurassic Park paint scheme, but its name comes from its chassis designer, Rex Stump, who built it specifically for this one race. The car had a custom suspension setup, aerodynamically shaped floor pan, and totally redesigned

Yeah, I went production for that reason. Otherwise the list is just this picture:

He fits a hipster father figure ideal among new money car people...not their father’s stuffy cardigan and moccasins look; hand washing the never-driven family Porshe in the driveway. Magnus is the rock n’ roll tuner.

I had a similar eperience, I used to race with him in the early 2000s and he was a gentleman of the first order. Really nice and creative guy.

I met him at a Red Bull thing in Austin and he was nice enough to go out of his way and actually speak to me when I said hello. He stopped, told me he had some exciting things coming down the pipeline, etc.

The average used car price is $18,800. This will be less than half of that with a little bit of haggling. I’d say that makes it “cheap”

People love to say this, but never adequately explain where to do the investing. I can’t be arsed to follow the stock market every day, so where am I going to get 3-4% returns over 1 to 3 year terms? The financial advisor at my bank was useless.

Now playing

But where’s the risk free or even low risk 3% return? Hell, where’s the 1.5% risk free return. Not paying the 1.5% on a loan is a sure thing with no risk to principle. When someone says put your money to work in the current casino climate this is what I think of:

I would like to know where you would get that 3% return investment (don’t tell me stocks) ? 1.4% is the most I can get for $50k 2-yr CD with Synchrony Bank and you’d be lucky to get 1.9% APR on a new car loan with excellent credit. Paying cash still wins!!!

Let them rebuild by way of unparalleled beauty.
Let them rebuild by way of shocking ingenuity.
Let them rebuild by way of simple creativity.
Let them rebuild by way of tactile feedback.

Let them rebuild every time the seals bite the dust.
Let them rebuild. Always rebuild.

A Mazda6 wagon, to remind civilization a mid-size family car and/or station wagon doesn’t suck anymore.

Not gonna happen. Too much golf and amazing weather here for the area to die.

Laguna is an iconic track which I would love to ride one day. That being said. I hope it dies a horrible death. Bear with me for just a moment.

The late model truck pictured is a bad example. I highly recommend you don’t even look at a truck that isn’t at LEAST 25 years old. Here are the reasons why:

Best purchase I made was buying my 1st used 2001 Frontier SE 6cyl 4x4 (never used) extended cab for $6K with 148K miles. Hard to find actually without the goofy 4 doors that shrinks your bed to less than 5’. Daily driver (saving mileage off my e39 540i/6spd). Used in some form or fashion almost weekly for hauling
