Do Jeep people actually bother dropping the windshield? That seems like a reeeally niche need that exists mostly due to tradition and less due to usefulness. And the JL still has full a-pillars and “roll cage” in place with the windshield lowered, so what do you really gain beyond novelty?

In good faith, what advantages does this have over a Performance Pack Ecoboost Mustang? The Supra is shy by more than 50 hp and 60 lb-ft, and I’m gonna guess it’s a solid $10k more. The weight’s about equal, and the Mustang is stock with a stickshift, optional with an open roof, and doesn’t have buffeting issues at…

They couldn’t even put in the effort to develop it themselves, do you really think theyd go the extra mile to add another variant

The X5 absolutely printed money for BMW, at least in the US. It still stands as probably the best full-sized SUV from a design and function standpoint. For example: one of the few to still have a split tailgate. Even today’s model still looks pretty good, at least for the time being until it gets a new grille.

Honestly, the first-gen X5 looks pretty decent, even if the front bumper looks weirder the more you look at it. 

possibly it is like some of the Jalop writers, the engineers designing things don’t really like or actually drive cars. Basing the cars off of the current crop of poorly drawn cartoons or perhaps video games is not what the majority of the world likes I think.
