@Crashproof: Agreed. I have a notebook for work (web design, multimedia) with a dock, and a desktop for music production (Pro Tools).

@mclifford82: True dat. Googling myself turns up pages of results (I do a lot of web sites, so I turn up in credits a lot, plus I have a lot of music out there), but WebMii found only a couple of sites and gave me a score of 1.2.

Skip the Glacier Gloves! As someone with poor circulation in my extremities, I'm always looking for a better way to keep my hands warm, so I got suckered in to the Glacier Gloves hype LH posted last year.

@Klay: Personally, I find the Accuweather app way more useful... has a photo of the kind of current weather (snow, clouds, etc.), hourly forecasts for the next 15 hours or so, 5-day forecast, full text of NWS alerts, defaults to current location but also saves other locations, etc., and all for free.

@pmbaustin: Hmmm... my VOIP plan also delivers my home voicemails as .wav email attachments, and my 3G has no problem playing them. QT plays .wav files, and that's the media-playing technology in the iPhone, so it stands to reason they should be supported...

Is this another Dragon app that requires users to upload their entire contact list to their servers?

@Pinkhamster: I thought Metropolis was great; I was pretty sure it's not this decade, it seems so long since I saw it... but I'm wrong, it was 2001.

@phillipdavis1: Sorry, A.I. suffered from the same awful Spielberg syndrome as Minority Report: he just can't resist a finale voiceover explaining what you just saw. He's so convinced of the audience's stupidity that he can't let them go without treating them like kindergartners.

@dredog: ummm... isn't that what "The 200 GB of space is an annually renewing cost of $50..." means??

I kept wondering why there were so many iPhone stand posts, when the perfect one already exists: the nice, thin, hardshell Speck case that I own that comes apart in the middle to form a stand (and for those wondering why a stand is a good idea, I use it when I'm using my phone as an alarm clock, or to watch movies/tv).

What, nobody uses the Epicurious app? Sure, it's full of other people's recipes rather than a place to store your own, but it's got a gazillion of them and every one I've tried has been great. Nicely searchable with a variety of useful filters (type of meal, main ingredient, etc.), and the recipes are laid out in a

Meh, who keeps a laptop longer than two years, anyway?

I've been using TechTool for my Macs and finding it works well. I keep hearing people say "Macs don't need defragging", but my audio software begs to differ... skips and halts in ProTools are the result of failing to defrag my audio drives regularly.

It's an extra step, but I just connect my iPhone 3G to my MacBook Pro, fire up Image Capture , select the images I want, and batch-copy them in full res over to the laptop for emailing at my leisure...

@ndgreen: I swear by Alibris, they've always been able to find what I'm looking for, and the price is usually great.

@JackClytius: Wrong... I'm a ProTools user, and a regular defrag via TechTool means the difference between glitchy audio and pristine sound.

Can't wait to get greasy fingerprints all over my iPhone screen scrolling through recipes while I cook!

Vote: Photoshop

I saw a mention of this idea the other day, and I've been stuck on wishing for it ever since.... I would seriously love a universal remote app to control my tv, cable box, etc.
