Ya know, everyone should get the phone they like... bashing a phone you don't like is not going to convince other people they should not like it too!

@fakerjohn: I'd be careful with melatonin... the CDC has all kinds of warnings about it, and is concerned that there really haven't been any in-depth studies of long-term effects. It's a hormone, so messing with the body's chemistry that way can be problematic.

I've been using this (for free) with my E*Trade bank account for a long time, so the idea is not new, and not unavailable for banks... just depends on the bank. It is a little bit of a pain to add a couple of steps (dig out my fob, type in the code) every time I want to check my balance, but well worth it for the

While it would be lots of fun to watch "lots of live television coverage to obsessively pouring over red-and-blue results maps", I'm afraid they're more likely to be poring over the maps. Way boring...

Yeah, I wanted a "both" choice... I don't really like the idea that someone could track me down without me knowing it, but being able to quickly get Google Maps directions on my iPhone with "use current location" is great!

ummm... am I missing something here?

I've been using Transmit, which someone recommended when I first switched to a Mac 4 years ago or so, but I've always found it inexplicably slow to connect to some FTP servers that other clients have no problem with, lacking in detailed info about what you're down/uploading, and worst of all, it has this annoying

I use CuteFTP on Windows, which has always worked fine for me... on the Mac (my main platform) I've been stuck with Transmit, which I've found to be extremely lame... forgets passwords I've told it to remember, connects quickly to some servers and EXTREMELY slowly to others (that CuteFTP connects to almost instantly),

I've run a bunch of marathons, including Boston twice (like another commenter), but I don't do it anymore... because there came a point where I realized that I was eventually going to destroy my knees to the point where I wouldn't be able to run at all if I didn't cut back on the distance (now I rarely run more than 6

Frankly, I think it's gotten to the point where not being comfortable with using the internet/computers is the equivalent of not being comfortable with telephones fifty years ago. It's the central form of communications of our time, and it's no longer a separate technology, like fixing cars, it's part of the fabric

I've been running in cold weather for many winters in upstate New York... I'm a trail runner when the snow isn't too deep. I found the the greatest boon to my ability to do that when I discovered Sporthill running garb; it's the official clothier of the Canadian Cross Country team for a reason.

I was so excited to finally get a keyboard shortcut to hide Illustrator... until I got the error "You cannot set keyboard shortcuts for Adobe Illustrator CS3".
