I mostly agree, though I do fully believe there are situations where Symmetra is very strong. She’s quite strong on point A defense in Hanamura and Anubis for example. I don’t believe in “maining” in this game, but Symmetra is my most played character in Quickplay because she’s a lot of fun to play as and because she is very strong in particular settings.

My chief reason to be interested in these things is so that I can backup saves. If Nintendo implements cloud saves or save backup to SD card, I doubt I’d ever touch this. That said, I do find the whole thing fascinating and exciting.
