He was important enough to ArenaNet to include in their game. In other reply you said JP didn’t attack him, but she kept on going at deroir after he posted his tweet apologizing.

Those people are not JP’s and Fries’ employers, and don’t have the right to decide if they want toxic employees in their otherwise wholesome community-facing team.

I’ve got no idea what you are talking about. O’Brien and ANet made a decision that they deemed correct, and they are well within their rights to not want to associate with JP and Fries.

If you did your research, I’m sure you came across O’Brien’s statement saying that the decision to fire them was made before the “public” outcry, right?

No, he gave his opinion on living story characters. To think he was assuming she didn’t know what branching dialogue was in his comment is absolutely stupid, considering there’s branching dialogue in pretty much the entire main campaign of the game.

He’s a very well established community member, and an ArenaNet partner. He even has an in-game character named after him.

I get that there are some sexist males in the world, but why on earth have so many sexist terms against ALL males popped up, somehow as a response to this? Mansplaining, manspreading, manfeels, what the fuck? It’s incredibly hypocritical of the people pushing this narrative to use these terms to discriminate males

Here’s what he commented:

Yes, that’s what being a business associate entails, receiving money and benefits on an official capacity in exchange for a service provided for the company. He’s still a business associate to her employer, and I’m sure you wouldn’t be wondering why someone would be fired if they publicly insulted an employer’s

“this was a thread for others to read, not an invitation to waste her time with uninformed opinions”

Did you even read Deroir’s comments? Here’s a refresher:

No, she actually did play it before anyone attacked her. Her comment was:

So when a female writer says she hurts a male partner’s “manfeels”, calls him an asshat and tries to paint him as sexist, that’s not insults and vitriol? Any male dev doing this would be fired at light speed and no one would bat an eye. Why are you defending this behaviour just because she’s a woman employee?

All the comments she made about Deroir came way, way before the sexist comments started. She pulled out the “I’m a lady and I’m being attacked” card within minutes of Deroir’s reply, when no one had attacked her, he apologized and said he meant no offense, she called him a rando asshat after that and said his

Well, that happens when people notice she’s not really a good person to defend.

“He was explaining a very basic concept to her as if she’d never heard of it before”

Except she opened her opinion up for discussion in her first tweet, saying this was an extension of the AMA (Ask Me Anything, not Ask Me Anything-but-don’t-discuss-with-me)

Did you even bother to look at what happened, or did you just read the kotaku article and went “well, that must be the whole story”? Deroir, an official arenanet partner, replied with this:

No, an official ArenaNet partner replies to a female writer’s public opinion thread on MMO player characters, gets labeled a sexist for doing so, apologizes and explains he meant no offense, then gets called a “rando asshat” and that his “manfeels” were hurt. That’s where you fire your writer, regardless of their
