Russian Top Gear would disagree.

When Elizabeth I created the first lottery. She also included a “Get out of jail free” card that could be use to evade a sentence of murder, theft or whatever. That was a lady that really knew how to get the masses to buy into gambling. (credit: Writer’s Almanac.)

It’s important to note that “Planes” wasn’t a Pixar movie. It was a Disney film... but they tried really, really hard to make people think it was from Pixar.

I bought the Mark IV (I also own the Mark II version) because nothing else delivers what this camera does — in a size that guarantees I will always have it with me. Slog2, a wide assortment of HFR options (like full 1080/120p with sound) a really great sensor, a built-in ND, the 4k video and the availability of a

Most folks don’t realize how difficult it is to drive at speed while monologuing to camera. Let alone on an unfamiliar course. Until you have a lot of experience with it, there’s no reason to drive beyond 7/10th on camera, or you’re just asking for an incident. (And we’ve had our own share of incidents over the years

The Iceland example isn't a good one because, you know, Iceland isn't part of the United States and thereby isn't subject to our laws - drone or otherwise. "What if" is kind of silly in this case.

Try doing an Autocross in the K900, the seat belts will try to kill you. They auto-tension with every abrupt turn, never letting loose until you release the latch or you pass out from inability to breathe. (*I exaggerate, but only slightly.)

Anyone else having flashbacks to that character Kalamazeek on the Transformers cartoon. Anyone?

Right now it sounds like they're leaning to a 6-point cage requirement... which is a pretty serious conversion. I would prefer they allow 4-point (half cage) so you can convert a DD and not make it annoying to drive outside of competition. But I'm guessing the legal department will win this one and they'll require

I remember these toys. Damn. Lenticular stickers on plastic sticks or something.

It's made by V.I.O. who also contracts to the US Military. Their Police version of the camera is based on the Military design and only goes for $349. We used to use these before GoPro on rally cars. https://vio-pov.com/pov-hd-tactica…

"Exploring an option" is a long way from "finally getting the one device they need." Their PR firm probably encouraged them to "explore the idea" just long enough to commit it that document. Specific word choices matter.

Thanks, Matt. The new Section 5 is much better. Episode submitted.

Thanks, but unfortunately, after reading Section 5 of the rules we won't be submitting. Those rights transfers to Gawker/Jalopnik are awfully broad.

Sony A7S also does decent slow-motion: 120fps at 720p

To be fair, the iPhone 4 was far, far behind the current crop of smartphones in terms of performance. Just as well to not run OS8 since it could barely run 7. Anyone that believes their mobile device will last 5+ years is delusional.

I grew up in the San Juan Islands. Not so keen on the ferry system. Expensive. Slow. Almost never on time. But I was able to hone my skills on Battlezone during the passage. (Several years after Battlezone games were retired everywhere else in the world.)

There are certainly plenty of REDs being used in particular niches, but I see a lot more Sony FS100/700 and Canon C100/300s in the field these days. My point was that the 7s has features that are specifically targeting video pros, for use as a specialty or extra camera. (Just like the 5D Mk II found uses in major
