Yes. As someone that makes a living in video production this camera looks pretty good. I don't think it's aiming at general consumers, which seems to be the focus of your complaints about it. In other words, I don't think photo enthusiasts are the target audience.

They're not getting it? As a working producer the 7s is the camera I've been waiting for.

I remember when VR was going to be the next big thing. It was going to take over everything and redefine entertainment and information. Tech "evangelists" couldn't shut up about it. That was 20 years ago. I expect a similar curve with Oculus as excitement turns to apathy once again.

I would disagree with your "sullen" characterization of the boy since he smiles every time he interacts with the family. That is not the reaction of a morose individual. That's why, for me, the spot works.

You can run Canon and Nikon DSLR pro glass on Sony Cameras just fine. If nothing else, mirrorless cameras liberate the photographer to use whatever glass he/she wants be it Canon, Leica, or even Zeiss, independent of whatever body they chose.

Yes, a Diesel 6 is absolutely coming. It was delayed a few months but will now be here by Summer.

IIRC, Quixtar was originally spun out of Amway, so it wasn't really "acquired" by them rather than just be re-absorbed. I remember knowing that Quixtar was Amway even when it launched.

Great to hear you haven't had any overheating issues. Due to the NEX 7's ability to overheat within 2 minutes in even freezing ambient temperatures I did pick up an A77 and have been very impressed with it's abilities for the price.

New networks, born post-Internet, will replace the need for traditional networks over time. Netflix and Hulu's original programming deals are a prime example of this movement. There's a lot of action behind the scenes in other categories as well.

Current slots on Sony video or still cameras support either memory stick or standard SD cards. Sony hasn't required memory stick in their cameras for years.

Rumors so far show that they are full-frame, have improved video and are weather sealed. Plus, they can adapt to Canon EF, FD, Nikon or Leica glass (or any other glass, thanks to the short-flange E-Mount). Anyone that says these aren't "pro worthy" are kidding themselves. And, in spite of Internet chatter, I know

It's true. I have a "Revenge of the Jedi" poster sitting around... somewhere. It was an early promo piece put out way before the film was finished, given to me when I was about 9. I stuck it into a large folder that is in storage last I recalled.

Did you know that those are a real thing — or at least, were a real thing? It's deemed "performance art" so as to avoid public nudity laws (at least here in Seattle.)

I'm more excited about the PXW-Z100, the bigger brother of this camera. 3G-SDI, excellent optics (for a camcorder) in an excellent run-and-gun package for $6500. Both are critical, bread-and-butter cameras to accelerate the movement to 4k as they provide options for wedding, sports and reality TV productions to make

Looks nice.

I have a whole stack of these. Just piqued my interest if they're worth anything..

Pro tip: Upload a new video every day. Repeat for 2 years. Finally make minimum wage (if you don't actually count the hours you put into your production and you don't actually have to pay anyone.) I've been a partner since 2006 and have made a not-insignificant amount of money off them in that time.

It is currently illegal to film using drones for paid clients in the USA pending a decision on flight permits from the FAA... which could be a few years off still.

IRC, baby! Probably around 1993? My first web experience was browsing Yahoo! after reading about it in PC Magazine. It took longer to download mosaic than it did to browse all of Yahoo!

I managed to get food poisoning from two different Taco Bell locations in the Seattle area. So, yes, they are all the same foodwise. I've pretty much confirmed that.
