346 people died because they cut corners. I don’t think huge embarrassment covers it. All those involved should be held accountable and thrown in prison. 

Short term gain for long term disaster. It’s easy to enjoy a massive spike in profits if you start cutting corners so that your P/L statement looks great. But if the corners you’re cutting get you a reputation for making dangerous crap that kills people, well, that’s not a sustainably profitable scenario.

Thing is, if you’re in NYC you might not be able to regularly charge at night since you’re parking on the street. So fast charging being available does matter. Many NYC garages also do have EV chargers but the majority of the time it’s a Tesla only charger.

I recently bought a 2019 Ioniq EV. I love the fact that it looks like a regular compact and it drives great! The only thing I hate is the location of the charge port. This is dumb.

Considering the lack of all the mechanical ICE crap, EV motors have got to be cheaper to build.  And the battery prices should be coming down, no?
