Still one of my favorites.
Still one of my favorites.
Beercheck! I’d know that Iron Eyes Cody pic anywhere.
I remember the old blue/chrome logo/sunglasses site, but my parent’s Pismo macbook just couldn’t load it. I finally got my own computer in 2011/2 and been reading ever since, but I have had a nasty backlog of ~100 pages for a year now. Still a slow loading site but defo worth it.
Thanks Yozzie. The awesome, resonant power of bullshitting about cars.
Thanks for this, Spin.
I miss that whole team.
Thanks for this, Mike. Like others have said, it’s great to see your name here again, but I wish it was under any other circumstance.
I still love his He Said / He Said review of the Audi RS4. I was in an awful job at the time and reading every Jalopnik story everyday helped pull me through. I’m so sad he died so young.
Same, I think I started in 2005-06, I was in grad school, so I’d grown up in an age where getting the most up-to-date car news meant a $30-50 subscription to Autoweek, so Jalopnik blew me away.
Please do.
We need to organize an OG reunion
Me too.
Beautifully written Mike. I remember finding this site sometime in the 2005-2007 era and it completely changed how my teenage mind thought of cars. Likely were it not for the two of you I wouldn’t be where I am today, continuously in the search for a brown manual diesel miata wagon.
Indeed. I wish you were here under different circumstances.
Ah $kaycog. You were there too.
Well written Mike, Davey would be proud. Thank you for all your hard work at Jalopnik and beyond. My deepest condolences.
I’ve been trying to write like Davey ever since.
Thanks for introducing the world to DGJ all those years ago, Mike. We’d have been far worse off without him.
My condolences.
Beautifully well written.
