Agreed on both. Yes, this is a disco CP - not because its a bad car and not because it isnt cool - but because it is way, way overpriced for a car that needs a LOT of work. Around $3k might make this Corona more palatable.

Yeah, as a daily driver these can be painful. I wouldnt go $4k for this example, so its a CP to me. But its not a bad car if one can deal with the subpar interior and aftermarket wheels and low-pro tires.
The correct answer is the Toyota Century, bar none.
Well put. CP at $12500 for me as well. For this money, id seek out a used Mustang GT convertible of some sort. I wouldn’t have the patience for the Jaugar maintenance nuances. And this XKR isnt the most desireable Shaguar to start with. Less than $10k would change it to an NP though.
Yeah, Im an NP on this one too after waffling a long time. Ultimately I assume the dealer would go down to 2500 cash, and you would drive away with a fairly easy restoration and weekend cruiser provided there isnt a lot of rust perforation. It looks fairly clean in the pictures and doesnt have a lot of miles, so…
The 318ti was one of the most miserable BMWs ever made. Even in the pseudo-M guise, it was just terrible. This 318 will likely end up an NP, but for all the wrong reasons. CP at 4800. NP at 3000 - maybe. And who paints their cam covers? Seriously?
He lowered the price to $7k and I voted NP. If you get into it knowing what it is (anemic and basic), this could be a fun weekend toy for not a lot of money. The manual transmission will help overcome some of the wheezy engine issues too. So NP for me.
Stock is what I would want in a $20k used higher-mile Cayman. There is absolutely no need to mess with the Cayman driving dynamics by installing boy-racer coil overs and a fart can exhaust. Once I see that kind of crap on a car, its an instant CP. If it was stock with 114k miles and had a decent ad with interior…
Wholeheartedly agreed. This example is dreadfully overpriced - around $10k too high - and has been repaired as part of Dieselgate, so it will eat a lot of DEF and likely not have the same performance as it had when sold new. Around 33k after negotiating would make this a near NP, but at what cost? As a buyer you would…
Yeah, I am in agreement that there is a whole lot of wrong here for the price. The things that the seller is listing as “problems” will be just the tip of the iceberg. Yes, this is a unique car but is probably not worth restoring or dumping a bunch of money into.
That is admittedly the absolute base level trim of the Silverado though. There are slightly better interiors as the cost goes up.
No doubt about it. Lower end F150s have a laughably bad interior, and there really is no excuse for having such a tiny screen on any vehicle nowadays.
No doubt about it. This is a huge amateur Frankenstein with a leaky bladder. Stay far, far away. Massive CP. That said, it might be an NP (and thats a strong might) if the car was mint, the body gaps were even, and there werent any mechanical problems. But even that is a stretch.
Yep, if this one passes a PPI and is all original, total NP. The 300zx TT will only go up in value with care and maintenance.
That has been Toyota’s strategy for a LONG time when it comes to trucks and SUVs.
Yes they did with the FJ. The FJ could have sold so much better if it wasn’t for the quirky design and ridiculous door / half window setup. If Toyota had made the FJ more of a direct competitor to the Wrangler, we would still see new FJs today.
Exactly. This Mera is worth something.... something.... but nowhere near $12500.00. Kit parts, even if dealer sold and supported, do not add notable value no matter how well executed. Also, it looks to me like this one has seen more than 18000 miles. Fieros were notoriously easy to get rolled back, and it was done…
Agreed, it is interesting enough and in good enough shape that I would pay near the asking price - provided the car checks out. The ad is written as though the seller is dumber than a box of doorknobs (heck he calls the car a “Le Bron”), so the LeBaron would need a good once-over from a mechanic prior to purchase.
Yeah, this one is a CP. A “California Car” in the middle of the Michigan UP with a questionable owner that knows neither punctuation nor grammar has CP written all over it. The fact that it is a Previa makes it a double CP. The body panel gap alignment and nasty interior close the trifecta. Absolutely not. CP.
No doubt most VW products are complete POS that are pretty much designed to fall apart once the warranty ends - often sooner than that. BUT as much as I wanted to hate on this van (and I really did), its an NP even if one is not a VW fan (myself included). These werent horribly unreliable (just moderately), the…
