Between the parks and a couple of cruises (my in-laws are cruise people) I’ve probably interacted with a couple thousand Disney employees, and never once have come across one who was anything less than lovely.  It doesn’t pay terribly well, so I expect it just attracts personality types that love being a part of

Yeah, it closed in 2017. The building that housed it is in the process of being gutted to be used for the queue/preshow/station of a Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster which has nothing to do with Epcot but should at least be pretty fun.

The Ellen ride at Epcot was something I remember vividly when I went in 1997. When I went again in 2016 it was literally the same ride. I think it finally got replaced but it was so randomly nostalgic it freaked me out!

On the subject of employee’s experience, I assume it’s much like many other jobs - it varies.

And the additional 30 days to book FastPasses.

My wife and I went for the very first time last year for our 1st wedding anniversary. I’m in my early 30's. We’ve always wanted to go. I grew up VERY poor (Food stamps and section 8). Now that I’m grown with a decent paying career and had some extra money in the bank we decided to go. The first full day there we went

If we’re talking tips, the resorts are absolutely required. Beyond the shuttle/monorail rides to everywhere, you get the Magic Hours, which are the best way to pick which park to (or not to) attend.

My job sent me to The Disney Institute for their three day training on the importance of customer service.  It’s crazy how much a CM is empowered to make decisions when problems arise.  It was even crazier to see what they put focus groups out about.  They put together one to see what is the most steps a person will

Haunted Mansion is my hands down favorite Disney ride. I am not at all the kind who likes the creepy, spooky or scary (granted, this isn’t a horror ride), but it’s the one I can’t miss.

You should get together with “Admiral Asskicker” and do up a draft on that.

That and no one should sing “Let It Go” more than once per day.

My son missed out on a couple of things since I didn’t carry any cash at all - there is a “shooting range” in Frontierland and, of course, those ubiquitous “penny squashing” machines.

Where did you stay during your visit - on-site or were you just visiting?

The resorts make the magic even more...magical. We overpay for the privilege of staying at the Polynesian Resort (it is the only resort with access to both the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT monorail lines) and that place is just amazing.

When you take them you’ll get too caught up in their joy and you’ll forget to see the tiny things which will be fine.  I’m just warning you that that will happen.

Nah - they still accept cash and credit cards; the Magic Bands just make it easier. I parked my wallet and other personal items in the room safe as soon as I arrived and didn’t take them back out until it was time to check-out.

I live in very middle America and I’ve been to Disney World twice in my life.  The first time was around 9 and the second time around 15.  It’s been nearly 20 years since I’ve been and I’m just waiting for when my kids are old enough.  This coming from a man in his mid 30s...can’t wait until I can take them.

I love reading stuff like this because the experience is entirely alien to me. I attended High School and College two hours away from the Orlando area. Weekend Disney/Universal trips were incredibly common, and I did have an annual pass at one point. So all of the “magic” really has no impact for me, it’s more about

My wife has never been to Disney and I think I’ve talked up the Haunted Mansion so much that I’m afraid it’ll disappoint. I’ve ridden that ride countless times every time I’ve gone.

So did you have fun?

The first time I went and got the wristband that just charged everything to my room was a game changer in terms of spending too much money. You just don’t think about it, especially since our first day there we did drinking around the world and were overly tipsy in the second half of the day. Spent way too much money
