it could have used a nondescript car...

A nice side effect of my dashcam is that is makes ME a more, umm, polite driver. Any time I get fired up by others’ stupidity, I think, do I really want to record my own aggressive response?

As a Californian, it really stands out to me when movies and tv use California plates. They always start with 2 which would make the sequence from the mid 1980’s. We’re nearly out of 9’s now and have started a new number/letter pattern. They also get the number/letter order wrong a lot of the time. A standard

I'm 60. I started riding when I was 10. It means be safe  and keep  two wheel on the road.

We have similar experiences, and I’ve also never heard of this. It sounds overly contrived to me, like something that was made up by someone who didn’t know what they were talking about to explain what they were seeing — and then other people who heard it thought, “Sure, that sounds feasible,” and they spread it

I agree. Been riding for 30 years, never once have I seen someone do a vertical peace sign like the guy in the picture. Always an extended arm straight out, or slightly down. Sometimes 1 finger, sometimes 2, sometimes all 5 digits. But never vertical.

No kidding, what a pile of horse manure. Its just a wave. Nothing more nothing less.

Nothing more dangerous than a bored cop, except maybe several bored cops.

I’m similar (59 years old and have been riding since I was 13), and like you I’ve never seen a peace sign.

You’re probably most familiar with the one finger wave!

The way I see it, two fingers are too confusing. I'm equal opportunity and use one for everyone. Stay safe!

I’m mostly pleased it’s not a MAGA sign at this point.

If a shop known for fixing exotics can’t  fix the carb or find missing parts, you wouldn’t have a chance! ND!

The main problem, of course, is getting parts. A car made in 1969 needs lots of them.
