Basically, it’s a lifted 2nd gen xB with rounded corners.

Same here. Only the newest bus in the fleet had padded seatbacks, this would be 1974ish. Our bus drivers were really cautious though, unlike when we moved to St. Louis, and school bus drivers drive like any other asshole.
Sure it is. That’s why it goes to 11.
My guess is the main reason the Lincoln’s are so unreliable is all the luxury stuff that isn’t share with Fords. I was looking at the new models, and the problems seem to be mostly build quality, accessories and electronics. There was some transmission issues with all of them. One had engine problems, and another had…
Or a better way to put it, people read CR to dodge crap like Dodges.
All the reliability surveys show is the odds of there being problems. It doesn’t mean every car made by a lower rated manufacturer is unreliable, just that more are than of a higher rated manufacturer.
Simply not true. They do a lot more detailed reporting and analysis that’s behind a paywall. The final score is just a simplification of what they do. You like so many others trash CR without actually knowing what they do.
That’s not true, at least in the comments here. Those of us that defend CR realize they aren’t perfect, but they are a useful tool.
That’s not the point of the reliability surveys. They actually like the Model S, and iirc the models 3 and Y. Reliability and performance are two different things. They like several cars they don’t recommend because of reliability issues.
And happy thoughts are in short supply.
I’d be happy if I could get myself to stop eating crap. It’s too late for my parents now, although they actually were reasonably healthy eaters, certainly more so than I.
At least I know who to blame.
Fair enough, it was again not so much to you, but it was at least the 2nd time I made that response to someone.
Just because something is expensive doesn’t mean it’s reliable. Most expensive brands aren’t particularly reliable, many are down right unreliable.
Again, they didn’t have enough surveys returned on those brands to create a statistically accurate report. They actually have professional statisticians on staff.
The real reason they were omitted is that there weren’t enough surveys returned to provide a statistically accurate report for those brands/models.
Don’t confuse the haters with facts, it’ll get you nowhere!
That’s not 100% true. They rate things for their intended performance. They rate the occasional sports car, and generally love them. They won’t recommend cars that they don’t predict will be reliable, but they still have their report and ratings on other things, so you can decide to take your chances on reliability if…
Some rando on the internet who shits on CR, obviously.
I doubt any rental companies fill out CR reliability surveys.
