This is so ridiculous. I had 4 pending replies here, and I can’t find a single one, not one, to read properly or approve.

From someone called Clenchmask that I can’t find the actual post because Kinja is fucked up, either through incompetence or malice, I don’t know.
Apologies to Elizebeth and Clenchmask. I can’t find your replies to me to approve them. I can’t even read all of Clenchmask’s, much less approve/respond to it.
Ah, Eye Surgeon back with his reactionary troll bullshit.
In todays hostile work environment, the smaller the union, the less power it has.
You misunderstood my point. My point is that unions aren’t the reason that cars built in the south(and Ohio and Indiana) are bad or good, engineering and management are.
If pensions were properly protected like in better countries, none of that would happen.
Please, it’s not nearly that simple. My 2003 Corolla was built in a UAW plant, and Corollas are very reliable, no matter where they are built. 2003 Corollas are amongst the most reliable 2003 cars built.
Oh, I’m 100 percent you’re right. I don’t know the current numbers for Teamster voting, but it used to be about the same someone else cited for the UAW, about 57%.
The white membership. I bet if you broke down Union voting, you’d find that white union people vote over 50% Republican already.
You do understand that non union workers get treated relatively well in the auto industry so that they won’t become union? If the UAW wasn’t looming in the background, they would get treated much worse.
You do know what a local is, right?
Age discrimination and sexual harassment are hard to prove. Unions make both harder to do.
Still working for this boomer.... :)
Idiots that starred this don’t understand that the reason you have this is because of the affects that unions had on benefit packages for everyone.
I haven’t seen one in decades. I see no reason to change that now.
Decades ago, people in Germany literally parked on both bumpers of our VW Westfalia. There was no way for us to get out. I got back to the car before anyone else, and moved both cars with the VW because I was pretty sure my dad wouldn’t. Still was tight, but we got out.
What about a Mazda3 turbo? They are a little higher than the limit, but not much. With AWD, tons of torque and NO CVT, it would be loads of fun, reliable with good mpg to fun ratio.
I’m sure it’s not as good as it looks to me as a teamster, but my UPS hub has always had minority and women in management(and as workers). I know we’ve had both blacks and women in charge of the hub that employs over 1000. Of course, I have no idea how people are treated as I’m not a member of management. I just know…
