Accounting for inflation, a base wrangler is no more expensive than it was in 1987 with the same equipment, believe it or not.

the wrangler WAS the entry level jeep for a long time.

To be clear, they could 100% meet those standards. It’s just going to cost them money in R&D and chew into their profit margins.

Automakers: “We can’t hit emissions targets, cars have just become too large and inefficient for that!”

Also automakers: “Let’s cut every single fuel-efficient car in our lineup and force the average American to buy large trucks and SUVs!”

The new ones really do not ride that badly compared to the old days.

back seat and rear bumperettes were optional back in the YJ days.

Poor people are poor and it sucks, news at 11. Ask your grandparents what a loaf of bread costs 50 years ago. The price of everything will go up. Either make more money, or prepare to live with less.

Put a cap on car loan durations and watch prices plummet.

Caught in a door? Yes.

Dealers are greedy for ordering only the expensive ones for the biggest profits. Jeep is greedy for realizing the cult status of Jeeps means they can charge more for luxury shit. And people who keep buying them despite how overpriced many of them are fuel the first two.

I’m sure you never did anything dumb or thoughtless when you were a 4 year old kid, or any other age.

Vinfast, Lucid and Rivian (And pretty much ever pure EV maker outside of Tesla) have bigger problems than emissions laws to worry about.

Yeah, but it just doesn’t project the image that some people are looking for when driving F-250s and bigger as their commuter vehicle to their work in a downtown metro area, and always picking the spots in the ramp to cause the most inconvenience.

Ok, show of hands. How many of us have slammed a finger in a normal car door by accident?

I’ll never understand this “Elon Musk can do...” type of argument. Because Elon Musk probably cannot do whatever feat of ingenuity or technical prowess ends that statement.

The 2nd gen Viper went all soft. I mean, windows? Door handles? A roof? A FRIGGIN’ ROOF?! You got to be kidding me.

It’s great, isn’t it? It’s really narrow (165 cm = 5 1/2 feet), and as it is low, even on stilts, it doesn’t wallow like a 4x4 offroader.

LOL! We’re screwed.

If there was some way to make a 12% ROI on this, it’d’ve been done by now.

People (read: republicans) will just blame EVs and green energy for using up too much power and not producing enough of it, respectively.
