How is it the job of the cop on the scene to determine whether the information he is being given is correct? His job is to make an arrest and secure the property. It’s usually a detective’s job to investigate, then the ADA will decide whether to press charges or not. Some underpaid and overworked clerk screwed up

You can choke on my c*ck.

WTF is going on with these rental companies not updating their stolen vehicle reports? They should be sued in this case for sure, along with the over the top cops involved. As soon as it was found the truck wasn’t stolen, it should have been, “Sorry, have a nice day!”, but they (cops everywhere it seems like)can’t

Shouldn’t they be suing U-Haul?

and hes not the only one getting a shitload of money. there are a lot more executives than just him. they said it would cost them 80B to give the UAW what they wanted. it was already going to cost them 200B in the same amount of time for what they had planned to give themselves. so fuck em.

Bonkers. Although I will say that “What are you doing? That’s my daughter!” is meaningless; anyone pulled over undoubtedly has or had a mother at some point.

My understanding is that Rivian is a direct sale like Tesla...the price is the price, unless they do what Tesla does and drop prices to be better compettive, but there is no negotiation.

That’s now how this works, that’s not how any of this works!

“We stretched to get to this point. Going further will hurt our ability to invest in the business.”

Sorry, we can’t offer wage increases to our workers who can’t afford the cars they’re building. Whaddayagonnado?

Somebody else made this point but I’ll take it a step further:

Same in Texas cities.  While there are a lot of trucks that do work every day, there are many more that don’t work more than a day a year when its time to get mulch for the garden (that would have fit in the back of the wifes Tahoe)

Ah yes, the E-150.

How many Tesla sedans do you see out there? Other automobile manufacturers should have always been trying to eat Tesla’s lunch in this segment.

The article title should be: Americans cannot afford electric trucks in 2023. This has nothing to do with sedan vs. cuv vs. pickup.

They won’t be popular until Fox News or Blue Lives Matter Magazine says it is okay to have a battery powered Emotional Support Vehicle.

EV enthusiasts are indeed a super specific special interest group.

Another brilliant move by Elon! He’s revolutionizing breakdowns!

Ev buyers are buying what they can.  Most can’t afford the massive expensive of a 200 kwhr truck battery and there aren’t many affordable options aside from something like the Bolt.  If you could get an EV CX-5 or Rav4 for comparable prices to the ICE or even hybrid models...thats what would be selling like crazy.
