You know, I actually have to give you credit for turning this one into a slideshow. Well played.

Before, he was Electric Car Guy, which made him pretty popular with the left side of the political spectrum.

Porsche would have had the option to add a normal wheel back the whole time for a large fee.

Why does that seem like something that Porsche would do

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Elon Needs To Step Off Of His Private Jet...Preferably While It’s In The Air...Without A Parachute.

Tesla: I don’t know why our sales are slumping

I’m a tree-hugging progressive and deeply lament that I gave Musk tens of thousands for our solar array. The experience was unsettlingly bad - and that was well before he publicly outed himself as a sociopathic fascist.

What’s funny is that at some point after Tesla matured, I thought that Musk would leave his role as CEO but remain a figurehead (more akin to his role at SpaceX). But now, even as a figurehead he’s poison.

It certainly feels that Tesla is a company that has succeeded IN SPITE OF Elon Musk, rather than because of it.

Starting a car company isn’t easy, so in that sense Tesla is pretty remarkable.
Then there’s the fact that he’s kind of an asshole.
Then there are the wacky “self driving” accidents, panel gaps and steering wheel stories.
Then there’s that bland iPad bolted to the dash look, when it turns out people really do want some bu

You forgot to mention that he went all in on the right wing asshat bullshit.

I presume the author is conflating “market flop” with “this car isn’t as bad as people think.” It wasn’t bad, most people probably don’t think it was bad, but most people didn’t buy one. Weird choice for this list.

Lucid needs to crank these out. They need the Gravity SUV to be released next. If they can’t get scale, they’ll wither and die. Their run rate is not sustainable. Rivian has the same challenge. For all of TSLA’s faults, they figured out their 2017-2018 Model 3 volume ramp right

And somehow, if they’d called them ‘see ya later’ tours, it wouldn’t have had the same ring to it...

Had to un-grey an owner.

I want one, but it’s just too hard to plunk down that kind of cash with all of the teething problems. In three years, after they’ve worked out the kinks, maybe.

Touring driver here. I’ve had my car for 2.5 months, and have put 2k miles on it so far. I love it. I chose the Lucid after doing lots of research. The Model S felt like an expensive version of my Model 3, and I wasn’t interested in spending double the money for small bumps in interior space and range. The EQS was a

Lsat year people thought Lucid had a production problem, but really it has turned to a demand problem. They can’t even sell the cars they have produced. I have a reservation and they bug me constantly to finalize the spec.

Especially now that Tesla is starting to open up the Supercharger network to all EVs, it could be a done deal for startups who don’t have something unique, or haven’t already ramped up production.

That interior - woof.
