I have to agree that it is unfair that the pioneers of EV get penalized. However that rule was laid down a long time ago and has nothing to do with the government hating Tesla. GM also used up all their credits. I don’t think anyone thinks the government hates GM.
The other day Elon complained it wasn’t fair that other manufacturers were getting a $7,500 tax credit for their EVs (which Tesla has already exhausted), and his stans were all “oh my God, that’s so unfair!”, “the government hates Tesla”, etc. etc.
I’m a fan of Tesla and Musk and even I think this move makes Musk look like a hypocrite on the “free speech” thing and is not good at all.
