Now playing

Just keep the horse away from John Oliver

So my parents picked up a E350 based motorhome from a friend. Seemed like a good deal, good shape, clean, but the heater fan didn’t work. Do the basic upgrades, tune up, replace a few things to make it vacation ready. They ask me to look at the blower fan, which is pretty easy. 4 bolts under the hood and one

Very much so. I finally got the chance to drive a R1T this weekend and wow. Except for the screens (ugh), it just felt really well put together. Things kind of made sense. That said, it's a big truck. Think first generation Super Duty big.

Not sure why I want that so badly, but I want that.

There is a third option as well.

“It’s even possible to really squeeze those pennies and do your own oil change for about $20." Let's see, 8 quarts of oil and filter. Nope can't do it for 20 on mine.

Wow. If they posted that today EPA would be up their ass.

We’ve hit the "real competition" stage of the market. Every new industry winds up with several companies that don't make it. Think of how many PC manufacturers have gone under or been bought out. Or how many brass era auto manufacturers there were. Once a few big players take over the market, there's not much

Anyone else see a pair of dragstrips?

AMC Eagle Turbo Diesel. Yes it’s a real thing. Only 7 were made, and apparently one was running around upstate NY. Several leads to finding it have come up short or aftermarket swaps. https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/buying-maintenance/videos/a32236/the-worlds-rarest-amc-eagle-hides-in-colorado/

Nah the STS-V is an amazing car. Blown Northstar with RWD? Hell yes.

Me too. (raises rotten fruit shields) it's garish and tacky, but it's trying to be fun. And on a car that looks like that, being a bit fun isn't a bad thing

Ford used to make some good reliable vehicles. But they were SIMPLE. Now, they're techy, complicated and kind of fragile. Then they price them way up, and put people into long term loans to pay for them. Prime example, the current F150 warranty is 5 years 60K miles. But they'll finance a loan for up to 84 months.

Hang on. They also hired a guy who used to work for the EV company, and a guy who worked for a phone company that tried (and failed) to make a car. Their success is assured!

Odds are good that it’s got a limited slip.  If not, just put one in. The trucks cheap and clean enough it would be worth the effort.

No. Just no. Give me a key. Little piece of metal. Able to be duplicated if I want a backup set.

*laughs in Oldsmobile*

You can buy non safety spouts online. Highly recommend doing this.

Or the Saturn Sky version. Agreed on the price though.

I see your Ferrari and raise you a Maserati. They’re like a Ferrari, but worse. They may be fast, and some of them are pretty, but I can’t help but look at one and say “why didn’t you get the Ferrari, or a Porsche, or an Audi R8, or..”.
