Section 31 having secrets — I get it, that’s their thing. They’re scum. Etc.

I hate the way the show handles drama in general. It’s almost always forced and contrived.
I was actually surprised Barry threw her into the pipeline, gave the episode an extra oomph to land on.
B+? Fuck, that’s incredibly generous. This is all getting incredibly tedious. (As all seasons do by this point, of course. 🙄)
Flexible superhero ethics: Using the cure on Cicada against his will would be bad, but putting Grodd in a medically-induced coma forever is evidently fine.
[notes that you’re also making a comment about it]
Hey, I’m pretty tolerant of differing views — it’s why I read post-viewing reviews, actually; I like the perspective — but I think I’ll skip future AVClub reviews for this show: we’re definitely not on the same wavelength.
Forgot all about this. Thank you for the reminder, Lenny. :D
Not that I’m suggesting it’s appropriate at all for a friggin’ cop car, but for quite a few years I sported a winter hat with a Punisher skull on it. It never meant anything other than “fuck yeah, comics”, and “I think this logo is cool”.
It’s likely there is no subtext to it on the cars, and it’s just “hey this looks…
I’m crossing my fingers that the outcome of Elseworlds merges Kara and Barry’s Earths somehow. That would be an opportunity they shouldn’t let slip through their fingers.
She’s gotten a dozen times more interesting this season. Glad to see it. And also glad we’re not playing “is she, isn’t she” on her morality anymore. It’s gray, but tryin’ real hard. I can live with that.
I bet you’re getting a little bit irritated every time one of us brings that up. And now I’ve gone and added to the pile! **flails**
Might not be luck, might be skill.
Bless you if you’re finding S1 to be fun. All I could do was laugh and riff on it. A good chunk of the non-avian cast was enjoyable, in and of themselves. Every other part of it just, uh, well, it didn’t work for many folks.
I hate to admit it, but I actually didn’t care for Mick back then. There’s being an anti-hero, and then there’s being a guy who’ll probably backstab you when it’s convenient. Mick was the latter at the time.
Well, unlike Arrow, at least Legends has a secure future here at the AVClub, now. ;)
Despite being initially optimistic, I’ve been pretty critical of the new series up until now.
This is going to be crude, but I just can’t get the analogy out of my head.
I feel like this show talks a good game about anti-violence, but then tends to just default to fisticuffs in its climax because it suddenly remembers it’s a comic book show, and that’s what happens on comic book shows.
It’s weird, because we’re not really in a place where a “reset button” would fit in anywhere in Arrow’s world. (Yes, Legends, etc., it’s possible — but it’s not a day to day possibility in Arrow’s usual stable of concerns.)
And they’re showing huge consequences for shit in the future. Which would normally mean, you…
