Most places are scheduling the 2nd appointment on the spot. They’re managing the vaccines in a way to make sure they don’t miss the appropriate window for the second dose. And they are using tracking systems, as well as providing info to the CDC. The tracking method varies state by state, but he CDC also offers

This. You go into the lodge to warm up. And while I can take my boots off when I’m standing next to the truck, it’s very difficult to do so with race boots that are cold.

Haha, exactly.

I agree for the most part, but even as a diesel fan myself, I can’t recommend one for this application. It’ll struggle to generate heat at idle at the temp of most of those ski hills. Even my newer Cummins barely makes any heat on the ski hills here in North Carolina, and that’s with high idle and the exhaust brake

They seem to be nice buses, looks like the electric powertrain comes from a joint venture with the Dana axle company. It’s cool seeing how Dana, Allison, and Cummins are evolving into the EV space.

I assume the fleet managers are likely going to gravitate towards the Thomas electric buses. The biggest advantage is that it’s using a modular system by Cummins that’s also being used in Gillig, as well as being tested in other medium and heavy duty applications for many different brands.

I’d hate to be the person who just carried a television up one of those ladders that has to be deployed to reach the truck bed, just to realize it doesn’t fit and have to carry it back down again.”

The CDL and DOT towing restrictions are pretty confusing and inconsistent across the board. Before going further, some notes on the terms below for others reading the conversation. This info is useless for most, but very important to study if someone is in the market to buy a 2500 or 3500 truck, or a flat bed to tow

Towing much at all with a tow vehicle that’s higher than 10,000 GVWR is CDL territory in most cases, unless if you’re towing an RV.

Good point. Class C driver license allows for GCWR of 26,000. OP’s brother’s truck has a GVWR of 11,000-14,000 + the claim of the trailer weighting over 20,000 lbs. There’s some exceptions for personal use and RVs, depending on the state.

It’s around the same height of Class 2b and Class 3 trucks of the ‘90s. Remember, there’s not much space for activities between the diff and the oil pan.

This is the right answer. The longest variation of the 1973 Lincoln Continental is the same length as a Ram 1500 Crew Cab.

This. Half the reason I grab a real tree is for the adventure of driving up a sketch mountain road to grab a tree.

Exactly. At the end of the day, the truck is a tool. It made sense to stick with the manual when it was the more reliable solution. But now that the automatic is just as reliable, it’s a better choice to stick with the tool that’s easier to use and results in a little less fatigue.

This! I don’t know why they didn’t add any redundancy for the CPS. Even my beater TDI can limp home without a CPS, it runs off a sensor on one of the injectors to help find TDC in that scenario.

This. With acceleration, I’m happy towing with just 200 hp, I’m not concerned about getting up to speed in a hurry when there’s thousands of pounds of valuable behind me. The only time I find myself using close to the full power on the Cummins I’m currently using (stock 6.7) is when going up the steep grades in the NC

This. I converted my truck to have a cabin filter for the added bonus of not clogging the evaporator as quickly. I immediately noticed that I didn’t have to detail the interior as often.

Good trailer choice! I do suggest going for the standard version of the 2500 with a long bed. It’s not cool enough to sit at the cool kids table, but it is a lot more stable than the short bed lifted version when towing.

Having axles and differentials designed for a GAWR of 10,000 lbs is a big reason why they’re so high. The Ram 2500 is a good example of that with the AAM 11.5" rear end. Then building a tough suspensions around it that can take some sag when loading to 4000 tongue weight is another factor.

Even though these are the budget models, they hold up well. I have a few different drills, including the older version of this one in case of a rainy day. It finished a task that a dewalt burnt out on.
