The reason for the 3.0 diesel is to keep the engine under load. This keeps the DPF from filling up with soot and increases the fuel mileage.

The GMC Acadia is closer in class to the Pacifica, the diesel version would get 40 mpg highway.
Most logical reason. It's the reason VW likely had to cheat for the 1st gen gen common rail. The platform was designed before they realized the need for urea. Later versions of the Jetta and Golf that had urea had to give up the IRS for a twist beam.
For those who actually use tools, be careful on buying mechanic sets and always read the fine print. Looking at the DeWalt set listed, there’s a few skip sizes in that DeWalt set. The last thing you want to do is have to Uber to a Home Depot because your mechanic set skipped the size needed to complete your brake job.

If the regulations aren’t there for vehicle design to mitigate pedestrian fatalities, they will be soon. The NTSB has been taking the issue pretty seriously. The main focus will likely be for incidents that occur below 35 mph.
Back when I didn’t think of what could possibly go wrong with the gas tank being in the cab with me.
Tesla’s Autopilot disclaimer is equal to putting “off-road use only” on illegal performance modifications.
You're adorable.
Indeed. I assume it’ll be around 10 years down the road once there’s enough Cummins powered EV semi trucks on the road to fuel the demand for EV truck stops. I say Cummins instead of Tesla because Cummins is working on modular solutions that work with other OEMs.
It only matters when the person selling said vehicle is marketing the vehicle as being better than ICE. If it was being marketing accordingly, people wouldn’t be calling it out non-stop.
If there’s a supercharger on the way, 300 miles wouldn’t be a bad trip with a 30 minute stop in the middle.
I hope Mahnidra Roxor avoids the death wobble, it’d definitely be associated with a Jeep at that point.
Even then, the battle is a bit pointless if the towing range is short. I’d also be very curious to see how long the battery will survive if the truck was towing.
Great info! Thank you. I’d imagine that car would handle very will offroad. I was pleasantly surprised how well my MKV beater handled off road and mudding without the lift.
You’re likely right that the Tiguan would probably be the way to go. As someone noted, the Alltrack has a torsion beam suspension instead of an independent rear.
If money wasn’t an issue, that’d be the hot ticket. Might be something to consider a few years down the road.
Sounds like trial and error with Tiguan suspension components will be the key. I guess the torsion bar is why the Golf Sportwagen TDI and Alltrack suspension components are interchangeable.
I always hated driving from Wisconsin to West Michigan, there’s no easy way around Chicago.
I look forward to playing around with the MK7 GTI and putting it on an Alltrack suspension.
It’s the same idea as clay bar for your paint. However, a vacuum with a brush attachment and a paint brush would be more effective for interior cleaning. With those tools, you’ll also be able to pull the dust out of the headliner and carpets as well.
