Microfiber towels are the answer. Buy a lot of them on the cheap, have a bin to toss the dirty ones in and wash them all at once. Use a heavy degreaser first(dollar store LA’s Totally Awesome is what a lot of pros use), rinse them and toss them in washer like a load of laundry. A clean microfiber is also more

Higher bed sides do have the advantage of being able to hold taller objects, but that's why the normal truck beds have post slots in the bed rails. You can use the slots for ratchet straps, to install a taller bed side, ladder racks and lumber racks to haul 16 foot long pieces of lumber or trim.

This. Perhaps that was on purpose so they could technically hit a 14,000 lb rating, but nobody who tows that heavy would actually buy the thing since it can’t maneuver a 5th wheel hitch or goose neck.

My parents paid 40k for a fully loaded Escape in 2017. 30k for a fast crossover PHEV seems reasonable.

I agree. I wish my MKV was a Golf, I couldn’t find a MKV Golf TDI state side after dieselgate and VW buying my MKVI Golf back. I’ve got it partially completed, playing around with different strut setups. The height won’t be outrageous, around the height of your Subaru.

The green stuff.

6'8" and I couldn’t agree more. The MK6 Golf I used to have had more leg room than my Ram. Riding in a Corolla gives is incredibly uncomfortable, same thing for most other similarly sized Japanese cars.

It’s interesting to note that the Pixel 4's main camera is performing so well with a sensor from 2016 that’s being used in budget phones. The same sensor has been used in some of the 5th generation Moto G series. It’s the reason I haven’t upgraded from my Moto X4, the Google Cam app brings a good chunk of Pixel’s

I was in the same camp until I was flung around in one on the Roval. That car can hoon.

Ground clearance is the other massive factor. That extra couple inches will make or break a vehicles ability to get through deep snow. We had a snow big enough in Michigan that I couldn’t move my old Jeep Liberty in 4wd, but my Ram made it through without even being put into 4wd.

You’ll likely have better luck with hydrogen peroxide. For stains that won’t budge with hydrogen peroxide, some fancy pee colored dollar store cleaner is about unbeatable.

That’s good info. I didn’t realize the Bosch lower voltage tool was a shiece of pit.

The EA189 TDI won’t get 50 any more, but the EA288 and CKRA are unaffected. Repair costs aren’t as high on the EA189 and EA288 as your EA888. The EA888 is a great engine if you don’t plan on running it much beyond 50 or 100k, but it’s a crap shoot after that.

I take the same exact approach. Bonus points for something that’s been cared for, but has a mechanical issue(if it’s a vehicle I can wrench on). I value having a nice car and find it’s cheaper to fix something with a mechanical issue rather than restoring the body work or interior on car with a well maintained engine.

In particulate matter, yes. But they do not let out even close to the amount of NOx and carbon emissions as a truck, car or even a Prius.

Ah, yeah, no surprise there and I feel your pain. I’m not sure how the Powerstroke has such a cult following.

maintenance is definitely more expensive on a TDI vs TSI.

Context on which diesels?

No one is saving money by driving diesel in the US. At best, they are about even.

The thing to remember with the 2009-2014 TDI 4 cylinder(except for the Passat) is it doesn’t use urea. The cheat now requires a lot of EGR to meet the emissions and is filling up the DPF pretty damn quickly.
