The vast majority (if not all) hatchbacks have covers over trunk contents, something you only remove for large items or to over-stuff the hatch area.

Americans are morons. let them suffer with shitty cars lile this. it’s what we deserve

agreed. Your points are valid. Ride height is NOT a factor when considering a vehicle a sedan or not. Carry on soldier.

They could have just brought over the “Sport” crossover version and called it a day

I’m sorry, but this is a sedan! there is no rule on planet earth saying that sedans must be 3 inches from the ground. Cars from the 50's and 60's regularly had higher ride heights until over time they dropped closer and closer too the ground with the “lower longer leaner” trend. In order to qualify to be a sedan you

Yeah this is the part that surprised me the most. Hatchback all of the things!

I still think it’s a miss to have a normal trunk lid and not a hatch. Weird choice, considering that it’s supposedly the crossover type.

Yep those soft ass Europeans riding bikes 30mph for 120 miles in a hundred degree weather while you sit in an air conditioned office...

fify

I didn’t start with a full charge and I also was going faster than their recommended 70 mph which will also cut range. Add in max a/c etc. and it chews into range. If I’d had 100% battery when leaving Menlo Park and had gone slower on a cooler day, it’d likely have just made it sans charger.

Great review and the Lucid sounds great. Curious with a range of almost 500 miles why you needed to stop twice to charge, not once, between Silicon Valley and LA? We just completed the same route (via the longer 101) in our Taycan, which has a lot less range than a Lucid, and we only had to charge once, and I drove

The 0-60 times you mean? There are a zillion YouTube videos confirming the Plaid’s time to 60.

I always thought this generation of Optima was a handsome and understated sedan. I liked it then, and I honestly still do now. Car design now is so f’ing busy and complicated and angular or swoopy. I think the Lucid is very nice too.

You drive more than 200 mi per day?  jesus

... and most fastback sedans look very similar to each other.

The Tesla Model S is 10 years old and as far as I know,”

Mostly the same on the outside, but pretty much every mechanical part has been updated. The interior is also entirely new.

I like to get up and go WITH the salesmen when they say that BS.  “Hey, it’s my deal, I should hear what he has to say, right?”.  I’ve made it into the manager’s office a couple of times, and everyone looks confused, and they just make my deal to get me to leave.

A bunch of USED CAR DEALERS don’t like rules that stop them from being shady? Who would have ever guessed!
