I don’t know what Drew Peacock is and I implore you not to enlighten me.

I would rather have the MR2.

I was kind of into this thing based on the price and lead photo. Not, like, super into it, as I’m not that kind of weirdo. But, the whole time I was reading this, I was wondering, “What the heck is an SMT hydraulic pump?” Eventually, I got to the photo of the interior and I was like, “Welp, that’s unfortunate. Guess

This may be the cleanest, shiniest candidate I have ever seen for parting out and sending to the crusher.

Beautiful rare car. There was a time when Japanese cars were pretty low on the collector car totem pole. Recent prices of old Datsuns and even Hondas and Toyotas that aren’t that old reflect a seismic shift in this thinking. This is easy nice price, and should only go up over time. It’s obscurity is probably holding

Holy crap that’s a pretty car, but I’m not sure the driving dynamics would live up to the looks. It’s almost too nice to use.

NP, these are great-looking cars and a good candidate if you want a unique classic car to tool around with on the weekend. The DOHC version would be more appealing, but way more expensive. A Mitsubishi Galant FTO from the same era would also be pretty cool.

A Celica probably would compare well, and those are worth a similar amount in the same type of condition. The Isuzu is less common and arguably better looking too.

Super cool car, but I have no idea how to value it. Would a domestic Celica or Prelude of that era work as a comparable? I’m leaning towards NP because of the superb condition. The seller might have to wait a while for the right buyer though.

If liking this truck is wrong, I don’t wanna be right!

I do love small trucks. Kinda wish we had actual small trucks still.

As the former owner of an 88 Mitsubishi Mighty Max, I would rather pay SpaceX to yeet that motherfucker into the sun. But... At that price, I could probably find a different engine to swap in there, and turn it into a halfway decent truck for running to Home Depot or whatever. Plus, it has those sweet graphics going

Agreed with this take. The 6G72 was in an absolute shit ton of cars, too. Might even be a chance to get a twin cam one from a later car if the mounts still line up in the right spot.

It’s the wish.com version of McFly’s Toyota.

And if you are going to get a truck just for the nostalgia, what better than a MIGHTY MAX?!?!?!?!

Not sure if a California buyer would find it worth their time, but with the engine fixed and the lack of rust, that’s a $5k truck in NY all day. So I’m with you, and I know a couple DSM lovers that I’m scared to even show this ad to because they might pull something trying to run to the airport.

Well, you’re not too far from Nevada and Arizona, so I guess the sunny day thing could work. NP for the person who can deal with its assorted issues.

100% this. The decals and the overall wear on the truck reminds me of old hand-me-down 70s-80s Hotwheels that I played with as a kid in the early 90s.  I love it.  The old Mitsu engine probably just needs some valve seals.

Am I wrong for liking this? I don't like or need trucks, but the angular lines, the 80s aesthetic, the decals... I just like it.

Never really had an opinion on it, but there’s got to be some middle ground for smog testing. One one hand, I would imagine it’s way more environmentally friendly to NOT buy a new car and keep driving an existing vehicle. On the other hand, I also see reasoning for not wanting a vehicle to be actively contributing
