Honestly, I freakin love this crazy thing. But if I wanted my own I’d prefer to build my own, not buy someone else’s.

I think they didn’t account for the number of tightly controlled industries deciding -now- was the time to go on a massive raiding party and strip the consumers bare.

Interesting custom job... but not worth more than 1/3 of the asking price... but worth probably even less than that.

Just a correction. The car is in New Caanan not Caanan Ct. They are no where near each other. New Caanan is about 30 miles from NYC. I work for the pd in the next town over and hopefully the seller will let me drive it. I think it’s the same guy I bought a Plymouth Satellite from about 8 years ago.

This is somehow way cooler, but worth so much less than the sum of its parts. A nicely built VW drivetrain has some value, and some of those rare Isetta parts could certainly fetch a pretty penny, but you’d have to take apart this absurd creation to realize those values.

Well I can’t complain that Jalopnik never does the weird and wacky for this column no more. I suppose if you are the unicorn customer who wants this, then this is the price you gotta pay. NP for that one glorious weirdo out there; you rock that thing, baby!
