Came here to say the same. He escaped his loss by hitting the road solo on this. I’ve always found riding to be a way to mentally parse through life’s issues. You can’t do deep focus on them because you need to focus on the riding, but you can boil your problems down to manageable bites and digest them.
If you ever get a chance to read his book, Ghost Stories - Travels on The Healing Road, do it.
He also covered it in Ghost Rider, and I believe he went to the tip of South America and back. It’s a solid read, especially if you’re dealing with any major personal loss of your own.
