I think the film comparison is pretty apt. There are plenty of “small” movies that people might consider indie that are backed by major studios/production companies. There can be things like the production of the movie itself having a low budget while spending a fortune on promotion, award campaigns, et al. There

I feel pretty vindicated that i pulled up stakes when they stopped selling PS2 games for less than $5 that you could play on PS3

“nobody is seriously gonna interpret it as condoning domestic violence or anything”

Yep, saturn sky

It’s incredibly frustrating that leadership on both sides may be the least people you’d pick as “able to reach a peaceful resolution” and that this latest round of violence will probably harden the next generations, but i think being ostracized depends on your peer group here in the states

This may be the only instance in history where an area was better off as a colony with a 3rd party playing “referee”. It’s pretty infeasible to revert to anything like that, but jersulaem being governed by the UN makes sense as a start

Very true, among the younger activists there’s a binary, animal farm-esque “brown skin good, white skin bad” attitude, and line stepping with paraglider memes, etc. borne out of not understanding how historically complex this conflict is, where everyone in leadership sucks

As much as people have crossed lines into endorsing/parroting less savory hamas talking points, invoking stereotypes, etc. this (while could be considered hyperbolic) doesn’t come close to being antisemitic. Athletes haven’t lost work for going full farrakhan, “let me tell you about the rothschilds...”, this is a bad

It’s admittedly hard to parse out what’s endemic to the insurance industry, specific shortcomings of tesla compared to industry, and a journalistic voice that (for the most part rightly) takes any chance it can get to write negative tesla/musk stories.

Weirdly ironic that though he very well may win the lawsuit, he’s tanked any cursory pre-employment screening he’ll see

It matters because the family didn’t wait for facts and also used the term “murder”, which has a legal definition and how he killed two people doesn’t come close to that standard. I’m sure the family is going through hell and i feel for them but this looks a lot like defamation, provably false claims made in malice

“Relax, it’s an ELECTRIC car!”

Has ryan reynolds jumped the shark yet as “overexposed shill who’s beaten the van wilder horse for two decades”?

Like how all the airline surcharges were “temporary and because of the recession”

And that it’s not without precedent, has happened a few times before at other tracks

was going to say, this is shockingly restrained for a mitsuoka design

The John Landis/Vic Morrow incident set a precedent for this kind of situation. Landis et al got acquitted despite things like overtly skirting child actor and safety policies. Hard to see how criminal charges will get a conviction

I think that’s where most people screw themselves. “I got this 335 for $6k! What a deal!”... that has never been touched and will need at least an additional $5k of work done when buyer was assuming zero

I’m a little confused by it. They can remove mustaches, reanimate the dead, etc with CGI but covering or replacing ad space is a no go?

beat me to it! bad santa, comin’ in hot
