If “California and Texas unite against everyone else” doesn’t have a sci-fi explanation, I feel like we need a much more detailed trailer to get people into theaters.

>>>”She wasn’t fired from Lucasfilm, they decided to not renew her contract. Can’t imagine that fact makes it any easier for her to sue them.”
Looks like someone discovered that the right-wing media bubble didn’t pay as well as she’d hoped.
For the 1 millionth time, free speech protects people from the government imposing penalties on you for saying stupid/offensive/controversial/etc shit.
Nope. I’m sorry, they just never existed. We can all just Newhart them away.
The song does actually exist in-universe, so this is actually quite likely:
The international trailer does a much better job at selling this movie to non-fan or even skeptical fans about this sequel than the U.S. versions does. I get the feeling that the marketing team for this movie thinks the general U.S. public is too dumb to want something new. Which, fair point.
I’ll have to admit, I’m actually looking forward to this. I do wish they didn’t bring back the tiny Stay Puft Marshmallow Men. The updated library ghost and the lion effect looked very good. I’ll bet they are part of a Ray’s dream sequence.
Did everyone have like ONE friend who had almost all of these though? I had that one kid whose parents were split up and vying for his affection and had EVERY good toy and EVERY NES game and being able to go over to his house and play with them was just about as good as having all that stuff myself.
I always felt that the biggest problem with the sequel trilogy was that each movie felt like it was restarting the story from the beginning instead of building on what came before it so it never winds up going anywhere.
Calling her critics misogynists is so amazingly reductive and dismissive of the criticisms of her tenure leading Star wars. It’s widely agreed that star wars owes its initial success to Marcia Lou Lucas, George Lucas’ wife during the filming of the original trilogy and an editor for the films. Marcia Lucas is why star…
You can’t really compare anything she’s done before being the president Lucasfilm to what she’s produced since. Right now, she’s the main input and output of anything Star Wars. For all the other examples you gave, she was only one of many people, with a very different kind of influence on the end product each time.
Not surprising and considering the multiverse angle, it’s even easier a recast than Rhodey.
Came to post this exact thing.
“I feel like when you go to a bar and you know you’re in a bar, you have to slightly deconstruct it because you’re aware of it,”
Keeping Ben alive would at the very least had kept an actual Skywalker descendent around.
He’ll always be Kirk because he literally did every job so that’s all I can see now (sorry, Sean). GotG bts pictures? Oh, Kirk is doing mocap now! GotG actual film? Oh, Kirk is a space pirate now? Checks out. Oh, he’s Max Lord now? Sure, it’s not even the weirdest thing Kirk has done! lol
Also was Kirk on Gilmore Girls, such a wierd character he did well.
i guess this is the movie and tv show equivalent of, “shut up and dribble”. Only this is worse because art comes from people’s experience or else we’d let AI do all the writing. What makes this more silly is that some of Disney’s most beloved properties have some kind of political messaging. It just seems daft as hell…
