On the other hand, we really do need to kill tipping culture. It IS ridiculous that server A makes $2 bucks for pouring a $10 shot while server B makes $50 doing the exact same work pouring a $250 shot.

You are doing a great disservice to Howard Hughes
i do not understand how no-one has referenced this movie... :D
Tesla is the market leader in self driving tech and charging infrastructure.
“I was all set to really consider the Mach-E, until I saw the release date of 2021.”
You’ve constructed quite the elaborate straw man there. They sell a couple million trucks a year. I’m going to go out on a limb and say all kinds of people buy them.
You’re comparing the Mach-E to the CyberTruck??
The modern day Howard Hughes
They’ll get your money, but will you get a truck within 5 years?
The Mach-e will be in customer hands in about a year, the 4th quarter 2020. Thr GT will be available in early 2021.
They’re not selling anything for 2 years. Way too early to be giving out specs.
“I was all set on the Mach E until I saw the release date of 2021"
Now that I’ve had some time to think about the truck, I can really only conclude one thing: Elon doesn’t give two shits about the typical Ford or Chevy truck buyer. Likewise, he’s not going to care much about the electric vehicles that Ford and Chevy are going to come up with.
I mean of course they showed their hand they’re making a car they want to sell. If they never showed their hand they would just have a hypothetical car that never saw the light of day because the competition keeps putting out new vehicles.
It wasn’t “$420 funding secured” or pedotweet?
Even worse than any of that, Tesla just showed its hand. The truck market is constantly one upping each other and Ford/GM were just provided targets they need to beat while they still have time to design around them.
Fourscore and several years from now, future car museums will point to this vehicle and say "Here is where Elon Musk lost credibility and went to the Looney bin."
BUT! It’ll fly under the radar!
The typical Tesla release timeline clearly shows that the Ford and Chevy alternatives to the Tesla will have a couple year head start by the time this likely shows up. Throw in Rivian and the Lordstown crew and this won’t be like when Tesla has previously trailblazed into new market segments without any competition.
If this is true I’m trying to imagine of why anyone would entrust the vehicle in that spot if there was multiple encounters with issues.
