I have questions:
I have similar made up opinions about nuns.
Counter: they are rarely blocking the sidewalk, and never fully. I walk through downtown to take the ferry everyday.
I work in downtown Seattle. These bikes aren’t being left in the middle of the sidewalk. Our sidewalks are massive. The downtown sidewalks have trees, signs, lightposts, newpaper bins, trash cans, A-frame signs and windmaster signs, etc on them, and those items aren’t in the walking path. These ride share bikes share…
A public space being used by a private company for a shared transportation service is what is being compared. In one case, bikes on sidewalks. In another cars in parking spots. How are these not comparable?
When it’s expensive, you’re going somewhere where it will be left outside, and where bicycle theft is commonplace yeah it is.
If Jerry is “everyman” then I have no hope for humanity.
Don’t worry, eolith.
Many of us made that mistake initially.
Disregard, I’m slower than slow today...
Show me one of these pictures, please? And keep in mind, we’re not talking about the location of reverse here. You may want to look at that picture again.
It shouldn’t be necessary, though. For one, a *case* should have no impact on the *screen* anyway. For another, devices that are this expensive, and built to look this nice, shouldn’t need a case that instantly renders all of that irrelevant. They should be built to survive normal use.
Yay frictiony cases to make it harder to get my phone out of my pocket, or for it to pull out everything with it. No thanks.
You know what is missing in this story? The fact that people still call the police. Never, ever, ever, call the police. You and your loved ones are in danger of being killed or jailed just for assuming that you, if you are black or brown, can use the armed State militia to help you. You can’t. You call and YOU are…
Precisely. The cop was yelling contradictory directions, threatening the man if he made a “mistake”. As soon as he gave the guy those orders, I knew the guyvwas going to accidentally flinch or misunderstand the cop’s directions and get mowed down. There was no way for him to survive this. Unbelievable.
Looks like a half-wit with a badge and the chance to be a hero in his own mind by executing a “bad guy.”
Sorry for the multiple comments, but I just can’t understand this. How the FUCK is this not enough for a conviction? The officer’s actions DIRECTLY led to this man’s death, and I’m not just talking about the shooting. He is GOADING them into doing something to justify shooting them. This is fucking SICK.
This is insane. The officer seemed to be purposefully asking for difficult things of this man to rationalize shooting him.
Not to egg you on but it’s yoke.
If people lived to 3000+ years old, their incentives would have them optimizing for the long term, which usually means figuring out how to keep learning and adapt rather than get set into your ways after only 50 years.
