Should I be hoping that Trevor really is the Mandarin and he had himself broken out of prison? Because I really want his naive actor shtick to be another layer in a very complex onion that includes the character having awareness of his own exploitation of Orientalist tropes but also continuing to exploit them because

he’s definitely choreographed to be like jackie, but he appears clumsy and charmless.

i just can’t shake the impression of how fake and g-rated this fight is. are they actually on a bus? no. of course not. a camera couldn’t move around a bus like that. also, it feels like the star of the film and the stunt men were filmed separately. there’s no feeling of contact. not helped by the undersold sound

I was always going to see this, but I feel like this was what I needed to see to really get hype. It looks rad, you get a lot of character in it, there’s more than one funny gag in there without making it feel silly--exactly what I want from it.

I was really hoping for “Bruce Lee (born Bruce Blofeld) recruited by MI6 to fight Chinese Spectre during the late 60s/early 70s”, but failing that, Marvel Jackie Chan is an acceptable substitute.

Yes, I was going to say that I hope Jackie Chan gets royalties for the jacket move! (I know that’s not really a thing, but to me it’s a signature Jackie Chan fight scene bit.)

throughout the trailers, i had been asking myself “so does he have two of the exact same jacket? just in different colors?” now i see that it’s a reversible jacket. maybe this movie isn’t so stupid after all.

This is the clip that got me hyped.

I didn’t do it to my Charger, but I certainly see enough cars, let alone muscle cars, with ridiculously big rims and ultra-low profile tires:

“it will also be easy to see coming”

Yep. I don’t see one with the advertised specs (i.e. the 400hp engine) starting lower than a base Q60 Red Sport (~$42.5K). Maybe there’s going to be a cheaper one coming with the 300hp 3.0TT, or possibly even the 2.0T in the base Q60 (they should be able to share all their engines).

In a way, you aren’t far off. While Grizzly Adams, like Jeremiah Johnson, was loosely based on a real person (although a different real person), the 1974 movie Grizzly Adams (and the subsequent TV series) were made to cash in on the success of 1972's Jeremiah Johnson, and the movie was made at a fraction of the cost

Given that the MCU has Tom Holland and the Venomverse has escalated things by drafting Tom Hollander, it now falls to the DCEU to assert its dominance by hiring Tom Hollandest

The Q60 making 300hp starts at 41,750, the 400hp TT starts at 58,200, price will be somewhere in between.... Anyone thinking this starts under 40k with that engine is delusional.

Just call it the Fairlady Z and be done with it. You only have to make one set of name badges. If having a car with a feminine name bothers you, go buy a something from Stellantis.

And if they’re saying "close to$40K", that will likely mean $45K+ with a market adjustment.

Kinja never forgets.

40 Grand...wishful thinking.

Living in Texas, sunroofs are overrated. We have one in the WRX and the shade is closed 99% of the time. It’s too hot to leave unshaded or open, lets in extra wind noise when the shade is open, and most importantly, robs you inches of head space which is an issue for me when wearing a helmet. Not issues for you, just

I’m beginning to think that Nicki Minaj may not be a good person...
