I dd one for 15 years, in California. No different than a motorcycle convenience wise.

As someone who has shoved a 350/350 motor into a Lotus style chassis, 250/260 isn’t far off the sweet spot, although you don’t really need a bunch of low RPM torque. Assuming it was done right, you’d have a hard time building this for the same money. You’re going to change drivetrains like shoes anyway, but a solid

I never appreciated it until I quit drinking, combined with finally having fridge water. If I’m walking somewhere I’m still using plastic because of weight tho. I don’t need water in the car. Why would you get thirsty just sitting and driving?

Some of those modern inflatable tents look drier, warmer and more spacious than this. OTOH, I lived in a VW (not even a Westie either), so this is a luxury comparatively.  NP, if you think it’s better than a tent.  If I was homeless tho, I’d snap this up in a minute, even if it’s about as secure as a cardboard box.

Look how much better that Bronco looks with fucking factory wheel wells. A Bronco with cut fenders is an instant boner killer. Wheels are perfect too.

And cars got maybe 10 MPG. You try feeding a 440 on $2.85 an hour.

Uh, no. I’m perfectly happy with $65 an ounce. From a store that’s open from 7AM to midnight 7 days a week. I do think that we should shitcan sin taxes in general though.

But my job involved driving! Truly the pizza boy paradox.

Man, all Jalopnik readers must have been rich as teens. We ran out of gas ALL the time, and were constantly pooling funds to buy a couple gallons at a time. Weren’t above some light siphoning either.

Never had a motorcycle? Anyway, you just always have a paper towel handy. Then you dip it in the washer fluid and throw it away.

We had a Rabbit P/U as a shop truck when I wrenched on bikes. The low load height was perfect, even if a Goldwing would make it wobble like a waterbed. It was plenty fast for around town and limited freeway use.

Bonus, you can check your gas with a stick when your gas gauge goes out for the 50th time like in my TR6.

It was also $30K when $30K was real money.

Good point. We should crush ALL the Chargers and Challengers. Maybe G35/37s too.  Just to be safe. And on general principles.

I have friends, honest! But not like, my immediate neighbors, so no one is starting from the same place. Middle aged people don’t seem to pick people up on the way as much as just meet at the destination.

It is reasonable tho? Certainly for anything in a car seat or a trip to the lunch spot. And I’d say your use case of “driving with co-workers” is as rare as somebody using their pickup as a pickup. I’m not a hermit by any means, but I don’t even remember the last time I was in a car with even 3 adults, much less 4.

LOL, “I’ve been trying to buy one for a year” is not exactly the lead in to an unbiased review. And the laughable assertion that it drives as well as the Type R means I should expect to see a bunch of these trackside soon? No? Yeah, thought not. And who gives the tiniest fuck about the backseat? Are you riding back

No dice. Every time I looked at it I’d wonder why I didn’t hold out for a stick.

You can get almost anywhere you can get on a Rokon on a Trail. Just not quickly.

Wings are never my only bike, but they are usually my second. Doesn’t even need to be near new. But I won’t road trip on anything else, because you can ride all day and still enjoy your destination when you arrive.
