But there’s at least a giant “Display Off” button prominently displayed which is about the best I’m getting in 2024. At least I don’t need to paint over it like one of my work trucks, because taking it out wasn’t an option.

To be fair, I have talked to couple guys who like them because they cost way less to run than their exotics and they don’t mind parking it on the street or having it valeted. And even a shit Chevy dealer is a better experience than any of the exotics I imagine, if you’d like your stuff to be done in a timely fashion.
Less stuff to break. Still the base 323 was the ticket, not the Civic.
Damn, I was saving that until I’d had a few beers to get in the spirit.
2 wrongs don’t make a right. C8s are the new car of choice for the flat brim vape cloud ex Subie/Zcar douche bro crowd in my area.
Counterpoint: it’s ugly as fuck, if you push it even a little on the street you are a complete asshole who should lose their license, and it costs a relative fortune to track. But if you want to drive around at 2% of your ugly Chevy’s capabilities and look like a total tool while doing so, go ahead. At least a Lambo…
You can’t tell me I couldn’t bip over to France for 10 minutes and score 10 DS carbs? Or machine an adapter for another brand? Anyway, $26K is about what these go for mostly, but not completely sorted, so it’s right in line with the market.
Every employee there is probably driving on dealer plates.
Hell, I’d be tempted to just leave the car on the side of the road and uber back to my car. “you go get it”.
Depends on whether they have a tow truck I guess. Dumbass kids who only know one way to steal a car it would probably work. Dudes whose job it is to steal expensive cars for “export”, probably not.
It’s not just G35/37s either. Toyota/Lexus V8 RWDs too.
Antioch still end of the line for BART? Gotta get home after all.
Oh yeah, I’m not advocating buying this car, just that a Ca. No Pass might not be a deal killer, depending.
What I said? But I can see them putting a half ass charge on a dead battery before rolling it back into the yard then letting it die again. I’d need to make sure why it didn’t pass, but I see more new-ish cars fail from sitting with a dead battery than anything else.
Probably dead battery resulting in more than one monitor not being reset. Super common. They can’t be assed to drive it long enough for evap to reset, but screwed up the drive cycle reset so some other monitor isn’t ready. Assuming it’s all stock under the hood I wouldn’t give it a second thought. If it’s not stock I…
Well, you’ll need Euro (Northern preferably) or something relatively modern. A 60s/70s American convertible is a nightmare anytime you need actual HVAC. I’d probably lean Mercedes myself. Or maybe Volvo.
About as far as I’ll go these days in skirting the law is very occasionally driving a race car to the gas station or car wash. My local self wash isn’t long enough for a trailer without unhitching.
I live in Orange County and very rarely take the freeway anywhere on local trips. I’m not counting PCH as a freeway here. But my wife has a car. So having one city car would work for us, but not everyone. But at 3Kish a year, my old 97 Tercel has another 2 decades before it hits 200K and it runs like new, so I have no…
I mean, 600 miles on track seems pretty decent considering this is way too much car for damn near anyone who isn’t paid to drive fast. You’d get a lot more use out a vehicle that matches your skill set. Plus, consumables on this beast must be eye watering.
I still see a decent amount of H fucking 1’s here, and they don’t even stand out as being overly large anymore.
