Shang Chi wasn’t really a woke thing. 70s Shang Chi was a Bruce Lee rip off in the Enter the Dragon vein. MCU Shang Chi was Jackie Chan in a wuxia/xianxia. 

As an old, their insistence on bringing in more cult favorite characters THEN fucking changing them willy nilly is what killed me. For instance, Shang Chi isn’t a draw for an og MOKF fan if the movie version is unrecognizable in order to pander to an audience with no connection to the property.
