As an ex-Tesla employee, I must say I loathe Jalopnik’s take on most things Tesla. Which is ironic, because Jalopnik’s coverage of Tesla in 2009 is what inspired me to go work there.

Furloughed Tesla employees are collecting unemployment, just like 30 Million other Americans are. The difference between them and the rest of America is that their TSLA shares have quadrupled in less than a year, while everyone else’s 401Ks have been halved in the last month.
First gear: The word “payday” is misleading. It’s a POTENTIAL Payday. If Musk sells, he makes a lot of money, but if he holds on, he doesn’t get any cash today, but might have more worth at some point later if the stock keeps going up.
And the first asshole to tell me Tesla’s workers get stock too, the replacement of actual income for money that stuck in the stock market does nobody any good in an economic crash like we’re experiencing.
1st Gear: In my view he deserves it. He worked his ass off over the 10+ years to get Tesla where it is today. He has more of his own personal skin tied up in the company he runs more than any other auto industry CEO.

Neutral: I had a vague plan to jump into something new, pre-COVID.
Came here to say the same thing....
Yeah, this is ridiculous logic. Especially seeing as how the employees can actually cash out; if Musk were to liquidate the, what, 95+% of his wealth that’s tied up in Tesla stock, it would crush the stock and destroy his net worth before he could pull significant amounts out.
It’s a bizarre critique that he’s playing up how much Musk is making because Tesla stock is doing well, then saying workers’ Tesla stock is worthless and stuck in the market.
And the first asshole to tell me Tesla’s workers get stock too, the replacement of actual income for money that stuck in the stock market does nobody any good in an economic crash like we’re experiencing.
But the footjobs will get better.
2 quick thoughts against this:
How exactly, does facing one another prevent the spread of aerosol particles?? This seems worse to me. Not of mention the prospect of having a stranger stare at you for 4 hours. Nope.
This was cool until they said Base V6. How slow is this thing? Definitely not a ‘Hot’ Rod.

I like the creativity... but... they couldn’t find a more “period correct” wheel style? The arches and the wheels don’t work for me at all.
I know it’s nitpicking, but is anyone else repulsed by the wheel arches being incredibly different?
Just...don’t. The cost of buying and disposing of the oil alone means you are paying more to do it yourself. Plus you ain’t gonna rotate your own tires.
