It’s still amazing to me that this movie flopped so hard in the theaters. Even ignoring the sequel part of it, it's just a really well made movie.

Wait, they’re doing a revamping of some piece of IP without JJ Abrams? Is that even possible? How are they going to come up with a convoluted plot line and a bunch of mysteries that will never be solved without his involvement? 

Master and Commander is the perfect DVD movie. If you’re a dad on a Sunday afternoon with a new surround sound system, this is basically heaven.
