but that’s life!
$6.99 gives them lots of room to make it $9.99 in 5 years.
Honestly, I’ve been a proponent of “a la carte” cable packages for a long time, I just didn’t think it come in the form of streaming services. I already know I’m going to subscribe to this, in addition to netflix, amazon prime, and directv now.
Not to be pedantic, but Disney has stated nothing R or MA rated unlike Netflix which obviously goes by HBO or premium standards. That will give Netflix a sizable appeal that Disney won’t match on Disney+.
It sounds good, but I think I’ll just wait until Disney owns literally everything and watching their stuff is made mandatory by the Disney World Government.
Particularly if it’s a shot at ‘Russian Doll’ when no-one else even mentioned it.
Han shot his load first!
And I always tell myself that I’ll finally cancel once I catch up on my favorite originals but they come out at such a quick pace I can never actually get caught up.
Are you looking for more reasons to be annoyed by your friend or do you want another opinion?
I watch lots of their originals; I’ve really enjoyed The Get Down, Russian Doll, the OA, Umbrella Academy, Jessica Jones, etc. They’re not all winners by a long shot, no, but there’s enough good stuff to make it worth it for me. Hell, Kimmy Goddam Schmidt makes it worth it for me.
Do we have any hope that the series’ they are gonna produce like the supposed winter soldider/falcon webseries or the vision/scarlet witch spinoff are going to be any good? One of my friends is singing the song of disney and gargling their balls because he thinks this automatically leads to shows like GOT on the…
Not enough people, myself included, take advantage of how easy it is to cancel and resubscribe to these services.
Part of the reason Netflix’s pricing went up is a lot of distributors took their content back, and Netflix had to begin generating its own series.
Limp-wristed contrarianism is his raison-d’etre.
All of this shit for $7?
I’m accessing your mom’s account right now. Simultaneously.
Russian Doll is good how dare you
Sounds promising, especially considering you can’t buy a regular movie ticket for 7 bucks. But I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s just an introductory price. Netflix was about the same price early on.
If the service sucks right out of the gate (technical difficulties, irritating UI, etc.), the headlines will write themselves. “We give Disney’s streaming service a D+”
