Agreed. There HAVE to be worse people in space than him. There’s also the fact that he was integral in preventing the ship from being destroyed, so while it doesn’t really make his decision to wake Aurora up acceptable, when you pair his dire situation—one that was likely accompanied by a fair share of mental health…
But did they? He offers redemption in that he offers Aurora the only remaining medical/stasis pod - knowing what he did was wrong, he’s trying to restore his fault. (Never mind that on a ship of thousands, there is ONE medical pod...)
