So, would you call it...synchronized swimming?

Ha! The image of elite swimmers all take 4-7 days off training a month to eat ice cream and watch sex and the city because they are afraid of getting wet while bleeding is awesome.

It is just so ridiculously absurd. Do people really think that women can’t do anything when they have their period? Have they never lived with a woman or seen one daily?

Right? It is almost like the point of Affirmative Action isn’t to allow unqualified people in “because diversity.” It’s almost as if it exists to make sure qualified people aren’t held back by institutional racism/sexism. Crazy idea.

Bullshit. You don’t get into Harvard in the first place without doing exceptionally. The whole ‘better grades’ thing is a canard. There are a handful of slots to go to a handful of students, all of whom are at the level where they absolutely could get into Harvard. Harvard, thanks to affirmative action, now makes sure

The not so subtle message in the affirmative action line of questioning is essentially trying to say that somehow Obama is only president because we hate white people and favor minorities. It’s really quite insane.

100% agreed. I was on the free lunch program in school and some days it was the best (or only) meal I had. It helped me focus and work hard to get good grades. I put myself through college (with the help of Pell grants), and now I have a great job and pay taxes. And I VERY MUCH want those tax dollars to give some

“Mah “C” student white son din’t get in Hahvahd so that entitled boy could make them look good!”

Exactly. They would take it as the reason why they a C average student at a public school didn’t get into Harvard. Instead of like, a Kennedy or some other super connected family member having to go Yale or *gasp!* Princeton instead.

According to these idiots, it’s a bad thing because you denied some much more deserving white person a place. What makes them much more deserving? They’re white.

It drives me up the wall. I had things like reduced lunch as a kid, and now, guess what? I am a college-educated citizen with a job, who pays taxes, contributes to society, and serves in the military. You know what would have made all that impossible? Not being able to think in school because I was so hungry. So for

Yes, I’m not sure what the shaming surrounding people utilizing social programs designed to level the playing field/provide needed support is. Can’t bootstrap if you have no shoes.

Even if he was an affirmative action admission all it would prove is that affirmative action kicks ass and is worth the investment, because we got Barack Freaking Obama out of it.

Now playing

Seriously, that man throws shade like no other President.

It was written by a PR firm.

Or he might shake it up and go with Ann Coulter.
(For the maximum vitriol/blowhard demographic)

I would have a kid just to be able to send him/her to John Cena Elementary School.

Fuck this fucking year.

This is like putting “Nazi Soldiers’ Remembrance Day” the day after Holocaust Remembrance Day.

I assume one celebrates confederate heritage by having one's neighbor from the north side of the street come over and kick one's ass and then burn one's house down, and then one tells maudlin tales to the younger generations, romanticizing the event as a fight for state's rights.
