Chrono Cross’s battle system, while good in it’s own way, was a HUGE departure from Chrono Trigger. In fact, calling Chrono Cross a sequel is kind of a stretch if you’ve actually played it.

Again, Timing, when Hunters and Pinball came out Metroid wasn’t a dead franchise. I didn’t like hunters, but didn’t care, because there were other games coming out. I liked Pinball and knew a new metroid was on the way.
Amen
I doubt that a trailer that essentially narrates the entire game’s premise (and shows everything, to boot) is “vague.” We’ve been shown what is, essentially, Four Swords Adventures, but with faceless characters in nondescript space suits.
I, too, like Next Level Games, but it appears they were given little to work with…
Well, can you blame these people? The last great Metroid game was on the Gamecube. I mean, you can look at it again like the Wind Waker situation and it might be good.
Are you seriously bemoaning the fact that people aren’t blindly buying into something based on the franchise attached to it alone? Isn’t that the worst aspect of fanboism? Their inability to think critically and just mindlessly consuming everything and anything churned out under the same umbrella?
