What I wanted was fender vents like they used to run (and some high end sports cars now have) but now that I have seen the whole top of the tire exposed, I want that.

I don’t think the DOT mandates it, but I still want it.

I’m not saying that it doesn’t have a reasonable purpose, but if it is something that can take a car out of a race for period of time for repair or replacement, then I would have to say that there could be or should be a better system.
