I bet this thing is a bucket of fun in the snow and I’d love to have it for trolling WRX’s at rallies.

But at that price I better get enough copies of it to start my own spec racing series.

Extremely weird. Extremely Rare. Extremely well kept. Looks like it would be extremely fun.

Not for all the Billy Beer in Georgia.

Not for all the Billy Beer in Georgia.

I was all in until the shredded top and body damage. CP

Are you sure that the WRX wasnt included?

Which I did actually include.  So technically it IS a comprehensive list!

I left the drop-top out of the equation because then there is nothing to compare the Miata to.

Holy shit, how did I miss that?  -10 Jalop-points for me.

I was six, and now thanks to a mortgage and kids, I don’t. lol

Honestly, what other car in the mid $20k price range provides the performance and feel of a Miata?
A quick non-comprehensive survey of the competition makes the Mazda an even more compelling value for pure sports car lineage. There are all great cars and more practical, but they are also all hotted up econoboxes.

I know the 959 has “air” cooled block with water cooled heads, but i think the 996 was a true water-cooled engine.

these generally have ultra-low crawler gears from the factory.

a little too much rot, and pretty low on the desirability scale. CP, but someone will buy and love this thing.

Trading in a KIA on a BMW to save money.

What a world we live in!  If anyone had suggested that 5 years ago, they would have been told they are clinically insane.

It runs, and its under $3k. Why the hell not. I’d build it into an off-roader so I could constantly say “No, its not a Rover, its Laforza” and then launch into an automotive history lesson that no one cares about.

Honestly, the most fun I had this past summer, driving wise, was puttering around town below 45mph in my cj5 with the kids strapped in the back soaking up the sun.

This price is about $3k too high.  its a nice clean jeep, but the pre-96 interior feels extra cheap and and dated, and its still a 25 year old jeep with a bunch of miles.
However, don’t know the pillow-top seats.  I swapped a pair of these into my CJ5 and they are comfy.

Really??? You didn’t go with the obvious 5 GRAND cheaper for a GRAND cherokee? Allow me to demonstrate:
“I’d have reservations on this Cherokee unless it was 5 GRAND cheaper.
