Dude, get over to www.earlycj5.com and ask for some help or parts. Someone there with have everything you need. They’d love to help a clusterfu... I mean project like this.

Reluctant CP.

Awesome car, but with the issues it has its about $7k high.

don’t be LED astray by its magnetism, it will leave you in a field if you aren’t alternating currently between charging and driving.

On the upside you could convert that AC compressor into onboard air duty, You’ll find a use for it.

Mismatched dual batteries tell me all I need to know about the maintenance.

CP

I think you are right, it was a 735i with a big-six engine.

Special sub-genere of this particular hell: Explaining to people that I race lemons, and what that is.

“so its like a demo-derby?”
“nope, its real racing ™”

“I think its actually called the 911"

I agree, but I feel like the automotive equivalent of a sports bar, (car-bar?) probably is a bad idea, lol.

rage inducing.

Many time’s I’ve felt the need to email them to clarify. But I know it wouldn’t work.

I’m going reluctant NP as long as they can show proof of an IMS upgrade.

A basic 996 C2 goes for similar $, so consider the supercharger free.

my point exactly.

Something about this comparison smells Vichy.

I’d second the 3/4 ton burb suggestion, but I’d skip the diesel or the big block and go with the good old fashioned 350 vortec. The big engines aren’t any faster, are less reliable, and more NVH. Unless you plan to tow a lot, the SBC is the top choice.

Just for the record. Everyone is wrong except Tom.

Seriously, I love jeeps and IH’s but they are going to be rusty crap-boxes at that price point, However, a good running 150k mile suburban is only half way through its life, and can be had in really nice conditions for $10k.

And Isuzu? for shame. Shame upon your
