Not really. The games aren’t really “hard”. They just demand you use the systems at play and learn them. Once you do that it’s easy street. You just have to learn and people don’t want to take the time.

Sounds like there is a story (ie: ‘easy’) mode, which is where I tend to play because ... when it comes down to it, I’m interested in either the story of the game, or exploring a world, not whether or not I can hit the appropriate combination of keys in the right order quick enough to defeat a computer’s pre-programmed

Counter title: Play Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on whatever difficulty you want to.  Each person gets different levels of enjoyment out of their games, and just because you think it should be played on one for the best enjoyment doesn’t mean others will enjoy it too.  I’ve been playing on Jedi Knight difficulty, and

To be fair, this happens to EVERY major release.  If they remade Tetris right now, it would probably kill the servers on day One.

I have absolutely no friggin’ clue where you get the idea I’m being apologetic. Breakpoint’s been mind-numbingly generic and every single second I’m playing it is a second I wish I was doing something *anything* else. This is a cherry on top, and I hate cherries.

As for the question: I took the time to sit and write

Time is not a friend to the Borderlands games, which have largely remained stagnant as so-called loot shooters have proliferated around it. The novelty of a game that fused the steady dopamine rush of Diablo-style loot and light role-player character building with some decent shooting has now become common. You can

Dont let this misleading article ruin it for you. It's not remotely grindy as it indicates.

Agree’d. Having played Division 1 & 2 for many hours, as well as Wildlands... my 7 hours or so of playing Breakpoint so far really just feels like Wildlands overall (right down the the annoying vehicle controls). The gear/loot system has no resemblance to D1/2 other than it’s a loot system, of some kind.

I’m really glad I read this preview.
I was thinking of getting two copies of the game to play in coop, but my expectations were “more of the same game but with an improved movement system and more complex damage model”, but now it seems like I’m buying The Division 2 again.

A lot of dumb people like to cite Sowell because he is a black conservative with a Harvard degree so he must be an expert, right? And for years, he used that intellectual cache to blatantly lie and misrepresent facts.

Probably because he’s a conservative hack dressed in libertarian clothes trying to get black people to buy into supply-side economics, racial pseudoscience and the merit myth.

Except the game tanked when they simplified it (Vanilla D2) and has grown as they have added complexity.

It’s actually exactly what the community has been asking for and if you’re already in the game, it’s not very complicated. Could see how it would be a bit much for a brand new player, tho.

If you hop on one of the transmat pads at the edge of the map in the EAZ, it will air drop you from the top of the space. Nice way to get on top of a building fast.

I don't even care about the grind, I pretty much have all the loot I want. It's just mechanically the best FPS ever and I can't get enough of it.

Except they’re not all free, like Maricar, who was obviously using Nintendo’s creation to profit off of.

...why should it change, though? If I go make something cool and original and then you come rip it off by making a slightly different game with all the same assets and stuff, why should I not want to shut you down?

Agreed. Even if you’re not going to play it for months looking for the optimal gear and doing the raids and all that, just doing the campaign is worth the price of admission in my opinion.

They could have had a gun degradation mechanic like Far Cry 2 or BotW.

The Clancy “brand,” as it were, has always been based around “realism,” or at least, a facsimile of realism.  No other loot shooter has ever even pretended to be based in the real world.

“except for those stupid f***ing bullet sponge bosses that make no sense and are only there to use up your spare armor kits”

It’s a loot shooter, not a tactical shooter, it has to have bullet sponge enemies otherwise there would be no point in upgrading your gear and weapons. Same deal as Destiny, Borderlands, Anthem,
