They’re not wrong.
They’re not wrong.
They’re right
Yeah that’s what I thought. Those were some wild ass texts but who knows what kind of role play or whatever was going on. Seems like he was just hung out to dry but fuck it.. he’s probably better off just being rich and off the radar.
Danny and Ed’s card game:
Hell where would we rank Tom Cruise in Hollywood Tom rankings? He’s basically the Scientology spokesman at this point
I think the “Chris ranking” came about because the 4 Chris-es they rank all had very similar careers that seemed to be following similar trajectories. They weren’t all that different from a casual glance and seemed to be vying for very similar roles. Their careers are all a lot more varied now, but for a while it was…
Elizabeth Moss’ c̶u̶l̶t church is probably at least as bad as Pratt’s, but, while that definitely raises eyebrows, I don’t see The AV (Gossip) Club calling her the “Worst Elizabeth,” or ranking her against Banks, Olson, Hurley, or Debicki...
I suspect this is attempted damage control or his born-again moment has passed and he’s like “what did I do?!”
As a recent law school graduate
Reva was one of the younglings that got away at the beginning. She of course would have known Anakin was Obi-Wan’s apprentice. She was there to see Anakin killing younglings, so I would assume she put 2 and 2 together there.
Yup, I just passed 50 and I have a picture of my dad when he was around 40 on my wall, one of those old timey western pics you do at a fair. He easily looks ten years older than me now. Continuous smoking and drinking and sun does a lot of damage
The more interesting thing is how the tropes of fantasy storytelling have changed since 1977. Obi-Wan hanging around the desert for decades keeping an eye on Luke is lifted from Lord of the Rings (as is the idea of a far-flung agrarian community being shaken up by a terrible weapon). It’s a throwback to a more settled…
I’m very confused by how AV club references Fallen Order but doesn’t know that Amidala got reams of character development in Clone Wars.
“Leia’s “help me Obi-Wan Kenobi” message that she gives to R2-D2 in the movie seems to imply that she and Obi-Wan do not know each other, but she eventually does meet Obi-Wan in part two of the premiere and she hears him referred to as Obi-Wan—despite his insistence that he is called “Ben.””
Maybe I’m being overly generous, but to me Obi-Wan’s incompetence read pretty realistically. He’s spent ten years in a combination of severe depression, PTSD, and actively trying to suppress everything that makes him noticeable. There’s probably a disconnection from the Force to stay under the radar that’s putting him…
If feels like they mixed that show they did a few years back with Jonah Hill(which I cant even bother to look up the name of) mixed with maybe Ex Machina.
I actually think this is an improvement over past efforts for Hemsworth. Not perfect, but better than some of his accent work from a few years ago.
I love George Saunders, and the collection this story is featured in is my favorite of his work, so here’s hoping they do a good job adapting it.
Either that, or it’s based on a short story with the same title that’s linked right at the top of the article. One of the two.
(1) you can’t “groom” somebody who is over 18. You can be a creepazoid, but you can’t GROOM someone who is an adult.
(2) why were these twins in a hot tub with him?
(3) why is there no byline on this article?
