oh right -- that guitar for one, right? wasn’t that an antique on loan, and russell didn’t realize it, thinking it was a prop, and he smashed it?

it’s not “doing their job for them,” it’s just being a considerate guest, instead of an entitled one.

i’m not seeing this as a persuasive argument to abstain from tipping housekeeping services at hotels... it’s more of an argument to also start tipping the janitorial staff.

this seems like decent advice to me. it’s clear that a lot of commenters here have never worked in housekeeping. i have. housekeeping is hard, often thankless work, for as low a wage as the employer can get away with, and it’s often not a living wage. i always tip the housekeeping when i leave a hotel — it’s not the

holy crap -- there’s an *extended* version of the Hateful Eight? that movie is epically long already!

to be fair, it IS ageist. unless you want to balance all the incidents by old people with all the incidents by young people, because young, inexperienced people kill a lot of people, too.

you haven’t watched his “Frankenstein Chronicles,” i take it.

that’s good advice. thanks!

i was wondering how this is suddenly A Thing. i suspect cheaply made bristle brushes are the culprit, but i certainly don’t remember ever having any problems in 30+ years, either.

it seems like most of these are props by women to moms. i am hesitant as an adult male to compliment a woman in a store with a kid, because while i would mean the compliment sincerely, i don’t want her to think i’m being some sort of creeper.

we called them metal, but they were more 80s hair metal than “true” metal of, say, Maiden or Priest.

me too. huge, HUGE fan. i played the hell out of Pyromania (on vinyl), and had the debut and High ‘n’ Dry way before anyone else i knew did. “Bringin’ On The Heartbreak/Switch 625" is still a kickass twofer that should be played more. i still liked them for Hysteria, but omg, that album has so much polish on it... i

i remember enjoying the heck out of it. at the time, i remember thinking they were the best on-screen dragons since Dragonslayer.

i read somewhere that Obama signed a bible or two back when he was in office, but i don’t remember any right-wing hue and cry over that, either. i think presidents get asked to sign all sorts of stuff, and they just roll with it. but there’s something about Dolt 45 signing one that is especially ironic.

hopefully the AV Club regulars can help find this clip: back in 1995, a young Idris Elba played a dude hired to take part in an orgy with Edwina and Patsy on Absolutely Fabulous. This was season 3, episode 3, to be exact (“Sex”). Edwina is super nervous about the whole thing, but she’s trying to be cool and play

truth be told, it wasn’t my idea -- my mom and grandmother did it. i think being a depression-era person, my grandmother just naturally learned to use up everything that way.

this is super-thrifty, but i save the papers i take off our sticks of butter in a ziplock bag in the freezer. when i need to grease muffin tins or a cake pan or what have you, i grab a butter paper and go to town.

and the dwarves. moria, at its peak!

yeah, came here to post that, too. reuse is MUCH more important than recycling. recycling should only be a last-ditch thing before the landfill.

i would prefer it to include the battle of the Dimrill Dale between the dwarves and the orcs, but that is in the 3rd age, alas. but the Kin-Strife would be great!
