Yep, police kill people inside Starbucks every day. Moron.

I don’t think you know what a “reasonable expectation” means.
So you think all cops abuse their power (hint: they do not)?
Then you are either being willful obtuse or are just clueless.
Is adequate defined as “this won’t give me food poisoning”? Then sure, probably adequate.
They are obviously not a protected race. But substitute in any number of other job here (construction worker, garbage collector, parking enforcement, bike messenger (yes those still exist)) and I think you’ll see why asking someone to leave an establishment because of their occupation is problematic.
Please cite this article. That sounds extremely fishy to me as I serve as an associate editor for a major journal and almost never see submissions from Ivy League researchers.
I strongly disagree with this. Maybe it is true for liberal arts fields, but in STEM I almost never come across tenured professors with their PhDs from Ivy League schools (maybe Cornell occasionally, but that’s really “Ivy-lite”).
“we wasn’t allowed to work more than 90 hours”
Interesting article, but I’d like to make a handful of points. (For background, I have my PhD and have spent time in academia (including as an adjunct professor), as well as the NGO and government sectors).
Yeah, I’m aware of that, but it is an outlier. No other sports (that I’m aware of) does it, and I frankly think it is stoopid (sic). International competitions should be between national teams, not professional teams whose players come from many countries. Another reason why I dislike soccer.
WTF is a club world championship?
I could probably google you (or you me) and find that you/I have a level of fame too. That doesn’t mean anyone who reads this has heard of us, or we should be quoted about Louis CK.
Not a sexual predator, but OK, sure whatever.
So you think 8 year old kids analyze what their financial opportunities are when they choose their favorite sport? I don’t.
Go fuck yourself, I can like whoever I want to. Your opinion means fuck all to me.
Nobody is quoting me for a deadspin article either. If I was quoted, you would be within your rights to say “who the eff is this guy?” which is exactly where I am with hannah.
The NBA champions are not “world champs” (although if you think they aren’t the best team in the world you don’t follow basketball; also, not only US players in the NBA), but USA certainly as won WAY more than its share of titles.
My response was replying to you “...and?” which I assumed meant you felt like I hadn’t explained myself.
“if the best 100 NCAA D1 guards played soccer instead of basketball”
